NOTICE OF FUNDS AVAILABILITY, REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS,
AND COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT 2019-2024 CONSOLIDATED PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of La Quinta is seeking project ideas and public input for the 2019-2020
Community Development Block Grant Program. There will'be approximately $121,443 available to fund eligible
activities. Eligible activities are generally those which directly benefit primarily low and moderate -income persons,
persons with,disabilities, and senior citizens. Funding for the City of La Quinta's Community Development Block
Grant Program is expected to begin July 1, 2019.
The County of Riverside is in the process of preparing the 2019-2024 Consolidated Plan. The five-year Consolidated
Plan is required. by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the County to receive funding
under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant, and Home Investment
Partnerships Act programs.
A requirement of the City of La Quinta, as a Participating City with the County's Urban County program, is
to encourage and facilitate the participation by residents, service providers, and other concerned individuals and
organizations in the Consolidated Plan prvicet. To encourage participation by residents, the City will be conducting
a public hearing to discuss community dcvelvpnieni needs within Lhe Cityand to prioritize the use of CDBG funds
during the next five years.
The La Quinta City Council will hold a Public Hearing on November 20, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the City. Council
Chambers, 78-495 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, to determine activities for program funding. All application requests
for CDBG funding have been -submitted to the City of La Quinta Design and Development Department. Project
proposals and/or comments should be submitted in writing to:
