FOR EXEMPTIONS — COMMON SENSE RULE
At its meeting of February 26, 2019, the Planning Commission approved Resolution 2019-003, recommending
approval of the proposed amendments to the City Council.
The Design and Development Department has determined that the proposed zone text amendment is exempt from
environmental review under CEQA, pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3), Review for Exemptions — Common Sense
Rule, in that it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility for this action to have a significant effect on the
environment, and individual development plans will be reviewed under CEQA as they are proposed. The La Quinta City
Council will consider this determination at the Hearing.
Any person may submit written comments on any of the contemplated actions listed above to the Design and
Development Department prior to the hearing and/or may appear and be heard in support of, or opposition to, the
project at the time of the hearing. If you challenge the decision of any of the actions listed above in court, you may
be limited to raising only those issues that you or someone else raised either at the Public Hearing or in written
correspondence delivered to the Design and Development Department at, or prior to the Public Hearing. The proposed
files may be viewed by the public Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00
