By 7:'F OFF;t C16 CA;)PY APR 121U19 G I J I. PREPARATION Before the start of any installation a few verifications must be made. Take out the floor plan of the walk-in box and make sure there is ample room for the furnished product to fit. A 2" air gap between any building wall and the insulated panel is recommended. Confirm that all the panels on the drawing or packing list are included in the shipment. Count all the accessories and make sure you have enough to complete the task at hand. Broom sweep the area clean where the walk-in is to be installed. Ideally the floor is smooth and level and there is enough room to work comfortably. [I. UNITS WITH FLOORS If your walk-in has a floor continue reading this section. If not, skip to the next section. Locate the floor panel marked F-1 on the drawing and lay it down in place it corresponds to on the drawing. If the floor panel does not lie level on the building floor, it will have to be shimmed underneath to make it sit firmly on the surface. Locate the next floor panel and put it in place so that the tongue and groove seat up against one another. Make sure the panels align at each end and the horizontal plane of the wearing floor. Insert the Allen wrench provided into the cam lock hole along the tongue edge of the panel. Turn the tool clockwise to engage the cam lock and continue turning until the cam has fully completed its course and pulled against the pin in the adjacent panel. Do the same for the remaining cam locks in the rest of the panel. Continue adding floor panels and locking them together following the above instructions until all the floor panels are connected and the floor is completed. After the floor has been assembled the entire section may be moved to line up the unit with any building walls or other equipment it may need to match. Locate the corner toward the back of the walk-in and set in place. Be sure that the tongue of the panel sits securely in the groove of the floor. Locate and line up the next wall panel to the chosen corner. When the corner and wall are aligned lock them together as you locked the floor panels together. See that the walls are squared up with the floor panels so that you can lock the walls down to the floor panels. Read on to the next section to continue the installation on the walk-in unit. III. UNITS WITHOUT FLOORS Snap lines marking the outer perimeter of the walk-in based upon the drawing sent along with the instructions. Fasten down the floor track in its place (center lined 2" from the outside perimeter of the walk-in wall panel) so the panel will be installed along the correct line. It is best to start the installation sequence from a back corner and work out toward the front. Find a corner panel to start. Run a bead of caulk along the interior edge of the tongue. Join up the following wall panel to the corner panel with caulking on it. Align the tops of the panels so that they are even. Insert the Allen wrench into the top vertical cam lock hole and turn the tool clockwise to engage the cam lock. Continue turning until the cam lock has traveled its full course and has locked against the pin. Find the wall panel which will go perpendicular to the first wall panel installed. Apply the caulking to its tongue edge as before, align it, and lock it in place. The idea now is to lock panels together so that they will support the first ceiling panel. The walls should form a "U" or "C" shape with the legs extending further than the width of the first ceiling. IV. INSTALLING THE CEILING Locate and lift the first end ceiling into place to cover and seat on the walls assembled below. Square up the ceiling to the wall panels so that the ceiling sits evenly on all the walls. Insert the Allen wrench into any of the horizontal cam lock holes along the top edge of the wall panels and turn the tool clockwise to lock down the ceiling in place. Do this with the remaining wall to ceiling cam locks to secure the entire ceiling panel. Add wall panels on opposite sides running parallel to one another. After these 2 wall panels have been locked in place, add the corresponding ceiling panel, even it up to the first ceiling and seat it on the walls below. When everything looks as if it sits correctly lock this ceiling down as well. Repeat this sequence until you come to final side of the box. V. DOOR PANELS Door panels are installed in much the same way as any other panel section of the walk-in. Because they are heavier and have more parts, more care is necessary when moving them about. Once the door panel is locked in place, the wall must be plumb so that the door will remain flush with the doorjamb and function properly. For floorless units angle brackets are provided to secure the door section to the floor and keep it from coming out of alignment. VI. CLOSING UP THE INSTALLATION By now you should have worked your way around the walk-in so that the last panels to be installed the corner in the front and the front end ceiling. Install the last corner as you would have any of the other panels, make sure it lines up with the adjacent walls and lock it in place. Finally add the last ceiling and also lock it in place. The actual walk-in cooler or freezer should now be complete and be ready to install the refrigeration system to. Also, depending upon the application trim such as cove base, corner moldings, or enclosure panes can be added. Should you have any questions along the way please feel free to call the factory for any assistance.
