Dear Ms. Sanchez:
The Community Development Department has reviewed your request to amend the Sign
Program for the existing ARCO AM/PM convenience store in the One Eleven -La Quinta
Shopping Center which received approval by the Planning Commission on August 25,
1992, under Minute Motion 92-029 (Sign Permit 92-177). This Department approves your
request to replace the existing gasoline island canopy signs with new corporate logo signs,
subject to the following conditions and attached exhibits:
1. Each logo sign shall be installed five feet from the edge of the canopy (i.e., north
and south canopy elevations).
2- The gasoline canopy structure shall be repaired and painted after removal of the
existing signs to match the surrounding canopy surfaces.
3. Prior to sign installation, a building permit shall be obtained from the Building and
Safety Department (760-777-7012).
4. The property owner is responsible for proper sign maintenance and compliance with
other general sign standards set forth in the City's Sign Code (Chapter 9.160).
5. The sign contractor shall schedule an appointment with the Code Compliance
Department (760-777-7050) on the day the signs are to be installed insuring that
the signs being installed comply with the approved exhibits. The appointment shall
be made 24 hours prior to the signs being installed.
This decision may be appealed to the Planning Commission provided a written appeal and
filing fee of $175.00 are received by this Department within 15 calendar days. Should you
wish to appeal this decision, please contact our office for assistance.
