EASTER SUNDAY OVERFLOW SEATING
Ms. Delgado:
The Community Development Department has reviewed and approved Minor Use
Permit 2007-908 to establish outdoor overflow seating for the Easter Sunday (April
8, 2007) church services from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., pursuant to Section
9.210.020 of the La Quinta Municipal Code, and subject to the following Findings
and Conditions:
FINDINGS:
1. Consistency with the General Plan: The church service is an activity that
is allowed by the General Plan Land Use designation for this site,
2. Consistency with the Zoning Code: The church service is subordinate to
the church use which is allowed within the Low Density Residential
zoning district.
3. Compliance with CEQA: The church service is exempt pursuant to
Categorical Exemption Section 15323 (Normal Operations of Facilities
for Public Gatherings).
4. Surrounding Uses: The church service will not create conditions
materially detrimental to the public health, safety, and general welfare or
injurious to, or incompatible with other properties or land uses in the
vicinity.
CONDITIONS:
The applicant and property owner agrees to indemnify, defend and hold
harmless the City of La Quinta in the event of any legal claim or litigation
arising out of the City's approval of this event. The City of La Quinta shall
have the right to select its defense counsel at its sole discretion.

2. The applicant shall obtain a permit from the Riverside County Fire
Department to install the tent structure. They can be contacted at 760-
427-9827. Fire lanes shall be established and/or maintained during the
special event.
3. Permits from the Building & Safety Department for temporary structures
(e.g., tents exceeding 200 square feet and/or canopies exceeding 400
square feet) shall be obtained prior to installation. If you have any
questions, the Building & Safety Department can be reached at 760-777-
7012.
4. A building permit is required for the use of temporary electric power.
Please apply to the Building and Safety Department for a permit (760-
777-7012).
5. The applicant shall coordinate with the Riverside County Sheriff's
Department for traffic control at the intersection of Washington Street
and Avenue 47/Highland Palms.
6. The applicant shall comply with all provisions of the La Quinta Municipal
Code.
7. The property shall be restored to its original condition prior to the event.
Adherence to these Conditions will ensure that adverse impacts to surrounding
Properties will be minimized. The City may elect to add conditions to this application
to mitigate any problems that may arise and have not been previously addressed.
