B. Alpine Truss Connectors: The Alpine plates are formed from No. 20. -
gauge (.0396 -inch) steel and" have two 31#4nch-long'by .122 -inch -wide
concave teeth punchcd4rom'a single. hole. Each, pair of teeth is I inch on,
center along the length of -the plate and b4 inch on center along the width.
C. Viking Truss Connectors: T1ic.Viking plaits arc formed from No. 20
gauge heel and have two No-inchdon by, 140 -inch -wide concave teeth
linched from a single hole. Each pair of teeth is .90 inch on center along the
ength of the plate and across the width of the, plate cach`pair of teeth
alternate with .293 inch and .350 inch, foaming groups of two pains of
teeth. Each group of two pans is `.643 inch on center across the width.

E. Trulox Trus Comectorst The Trulox plates are formed from
No. 20 gauge steel and have .191 -inch -diameter holes punched in
alternating rows. The holes'am 2 inches on center along the length
of the plate and are .7 inch on center along the width. The plates
are fastened with T-shaped Bails .113. inch in diameter by, iia .
inches long, .125 -inch square -shank nails 1% inches long or with
ring shank malls .131 -inch in diameteraby 1% inches long. The
number of nails installed is determined on the basis of tho..desigu
loads to be transferred through the connector.
F Alpine No. 16 Gauge Truss Plates: The Alpine Na 16 gauge (.06.35.
inch) plates have pairs of teen. each 0.375 inch long, punched perpcndicu-
lar to the base rectal from slots that measure 0.540 inch.long'and 0:143 inch
wide. Slots arc alternately spaced 0.310 inch and 0:439 inch on center

and Other Timber Constructloo are alternate types of timber conaec-
fors to those specif ed in- thc-1.9,88 Building Code, subject to the
following condidons: ' .
1. The connectors. are installed as set forth la this repoft.
2. Alta"ItIc.loads and•effciency ratios for the Alpine. Viking.
ttioidloc and Alpine No. 16 gauge truss plates are as set forth In
Table No. 1: ;
3. The allowablt loads for (he,Trulox truss plates loaded parallel to
the length of the plate are 66 pounds per nail for the .1 13 -inch.
diamrlcr nail and 68 pounds per call for the .125 -inch square-
slwnk and .131 -inch -diameter nail when installed in Douglas fir,
larch or southern pine lombet: Nails within t/a inch of the lumber
side edge or end stwll.be neglected.
4. T he Allowable loads may `be Increased for duration of load In
accordance with Section 2504 (c) 4.
