CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the La Quinta Community Services Commission was called to
order at 5:30 p.m. by Chair Wyler.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Commissioners Biondi, Blakeley, La Greca, Marley and Chair Wyler
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Commissioner Blakeley led the Commission in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON MATTERS NOT ON THE AGENDA - None.
BUSINESS SESSION LMOTION REQUIRED)
1. APPOINT CHAIR
MOTION - A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners La Greca/Biondi to
appoint Chair to Commissioner Wyler to the Community Services Commission.
Motion passes unanimously.
2. APPOINT CHAIR
MOTION - A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners La Greca/Biondi to
appoint Vice -Chair to Commissioner Marley to the Community Services
Commission. Motion passes unanimously.

STUDY SESSION
1. COMMISSION ROAD MAP REVIEW
Presented by Chris Escobedo, Community Resources Director.
Commissioner Blakeley recommends that a Cove Association member or a
prominent Cove resident to help Commission choose art for the roundabouts.
There was a consensus among Commissioners for staff to introduce Commission's
recommendation at the weekly Cove Neighborhood Association meeting on
September 10.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
1. 9/11 CANDLELIGHT VIGIL
Michael Calderon, Management Assistant announced event during Presentations
item number P3.
Chair Wyler invited commissioners to volunteer at event.
2. LA QUINTA ART SIGNATURE EVENT - ART PRODUCER
Presented by Chris Escobedo, Community Resources Director.
Commissioner Blakeley who was served on the art event RFP review panel, reported
to Commission the selection process.
Signature art event producer will be invited to present to Commission in a future
meeting.
3. ART GUIDELINES
Presented by Jaime Torres, Analyst.
Action update since adoption of art guidelines:
• Obtained pre -approved artist list from LeBasse Projects
• Upcoming, experiential art
• Biannual maintenance schedule for 2019: late September and December
• Staff and LaBasse working on art spaces opportunities including north of Hwy
111 and pedestals
• Photography of City's art inventory completed
Commissioner Marley asked if Instagram pop -ups are being considered. He
suggested the lift pick-up area at McDonalds.
4. FACILITIES TOUR
Presented by Christina Calderon, Community Resources Manager.

5. FRITZ BURNS POOL UPDATE
Presented by Robert Ambriz, Jr., Maintenance and Operations Superintendent.
Robert Ambriz, Jr. to follow-up with revenue breakdown.
Pool heater contractor going to Council for approval.
CONSENT CALENDAR
1. APPROVE MINUTES OF JUNE 10, 2019
MOTION - A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners Blakeley/Marley to
approve the June 10, 2019 minutes as submitted. Motion passed: 4 Ayes, 1 Abstain
(Biondi).
2. APPROVE MINUTES OF JULY 18, 2019 SPECIAL MEETING
MOTION - A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners Marley/Blakeley to
approve the July 18, 2019 as submitted. Motion passes unanimously.
