It has come to my attention that a redesign- of the structural system for the garage expansion at, the
\lercatante Residence Addition at 79-920 Rancho La Quinta Drive, Rancho,La Quinta Country Club, has been
requested by the Owner. Specifically, he;has•requested, the removal of transverse shear pan`el's at the forme
-
front �of�thee gaiage, whicli'will become -the -midpoint of=the-•expanded garage. In that this has important
implications for the lateral design of thestructure;we have retained ari'engmeer to revise the structural system.
I have reviewed revised engineering drawings and calculations provided by RF Structural Consultants Inc. '
dated 3/20/2007, to be used for the garage 'expansion. The revised plans (Sheets 1 through 4) and structural
calculations, are in compliance with the design requirements for the project, and are signed by a professional
engineer. I,have approved them for construction, and would like you to accept them for review ,In so doing,
RF Structural Consultants Inc. will become the structural engineer of record on this project.
