Dear Mr..Lamb:
This letter is to report approval of your recent application fora setback adjustment, pursuant
to Chapter 9.188 of the City of La Quinta Planning & Zoning Regulations. The following
setback adjustment has been approved subject to conditions and in accordance with attached
Exhibit A.
SETBACK ADJUSTMENT: 5 feet to 3 feet
FOR: reduction of pool, spa, and equipment in front yard area
1. Comply with Building & Safety Department requirements
2. Any additional wall height required to comply with minimum 5', height'
requirement along radius in corner cutback shall be provided with wrought
iron or steel tubing.
After review it was determined that:
1: This adjustment is consistent with the intent and `purpose of the zoning
ordinance to allow development of single family residences 'and swimming

Dear Mr. Lamb:
Pursuant to your meeting with Mr. Jerry, Herman, Community Development Director, this is to
report an amendment to the approval granted to you on March 7, 1996 for the above -noted setback
adjustment.
Presently Condition #2 requires that "any additional wall height required to comply with the
minimum five-foot height requirement along the radius in the corner cutback.area shall be provided
with wrought iron or steel tubing." It has been determined that the wall.along the front property line
may be provided as follows:
The five foot high wall required around the pool area shall be measured from the southwest
corner of the existing wall (adjacent to driveway) and shall be .a level five feet in height
around the front and exterior side yard of the lot and adjacent to the driveway to the garage.
It has been determined that this is acceptable for the following reasons:
1. A stop sign exists for northbound traffic on Avenida Rubio which addresses the traffic
visibility concern in the area of the increased height wall.
2. The new wall creates no visibility obstructions greater than what presently exists.
