EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 3
ORDER TO OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS
AT SILVERROCK RESORT'S GOLF COURSE & ANCILLARY AREAS
EFFECTIVE MARCH 19, 2020 AT 12:00 a.m.

Pursuant to Chapter 2.20 of the La Quinta Municipal Code and City Council
Resolution No. EM 2020-001, the City Manager for the City of La Quinta
hereby ORDERS the following:
1. All persons at SilverRock Resort's golf course and ancillary use
areas, including the parking area, temporary clubhouse,
driving range, practice putting greens, and food and beverage
service area commonly known as "The Grill" or Ahmanson
Ranch House, shall observe a minimum social distance of six
(6) feet between other persons, except this distance
requirement does not apply between a person and that
person's spouse or family member who lives in the same
residence as that person. No gathering of ten (10) persons or
more is allowed anywhere on or at the golf course or its
ancillary use areas, except, for an indoor area that has been
subdivided into separate spaces by physical walls or sufficient
airspace, the 10-person limit is per subdivision of space.
2. For persons using a golf cart while playing golf, only one (1)
person per golf cart is allowed, except more than one (1)
person per golf cart is allowed if the other person is that
person's spouse or family member who lives in the same
residence as that person. Notwithstanding any provisions in
this' Executive Order to the contrary, no golf cart or golf
shuttle designed to seat more than two (2) persons may be
used except for one (1) person who is either an employee of

the City of La Quinta or who is contracted for by the City of La
Quinta for the management of the golf course operations.
3. For the food and beverage service area commonly known as
"The Grill" or Ahmanson Ranch House, there shall only be a
limited menu and there shall be only take-out or "grab and go"
service available.
4. This order shall remain in effect until subsequent order from
the City Manager.
This Executive Order is issued because a Local Emergency, as defined in
Section 2.20.020 of the La Quinta Municipal Code, has been proclaimed by
the City Council of the City of La Quinta to exist due to the threat of the
existence and spread of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in and
throughout the city. All of the findings set forth in the recitals to Resolution
No. EM 2020-001 adopted by the City Council are hereby incorporated by
reference into this Executive Order.
This Executive Order is issued, pursuant to Sections 3, 5, and 8 of
Resolution No. EM 2020-001 and Section 2.20.100, Subsections (A) and (B),
of the La Quinta Municipal Code, under which the City Manager has the
authority and power to issue executive orders for any matters related to the
Local Emergency.
This Executive Order is issued in furtherance of the authority and power to
address the Local Emergency as provided in the California Emergency
Services Act, Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 8550) of Title 2 of the
Government Code, and implemented by Chapter 2.20 of the La Quinta
Municipal Code. Any violation of this Executive Order may be determined to
be a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine or imprisonment, or both,
pursuant to Section 8665 of the Government Code, Section 2.20.140 of the
La Quinta Municipal Code, and any other state or city law as may be
applicable.
