Cindy -
Thanks for reaching out again regarding this project.
It still has some hurdles before it reaches City Council.
We’ll keep your input as part of the record.
Thank you!

Good morning Mayor Linda,
Appears the LQ Surf Park planned near 58th and 60th
is moving forward. As a fairly new resident, I can stomach and would
expect some hotel/home
growth in the area of Trilogy. A Surf Park, no.
That piece of the commercial project should live
2
outside of a residential area. Example, we can hear the Thermal Club
Raceway from our location when they are racing in Thermal, and that
is 6-7 miles from us. Surf turbines + constant outside music will bounce
right off the mountains and straight out to Trilogy and Andelusia.
LQ sits so beautifully close to our mountains.
If project goes through, we will lose what we
moved to Trilogy in LQ for. I realize revenue is needed and important.
However, the Surf Park piece will come at a high cost for those of us
near this project and this portion of LQ.
Thank you for any support you may give
towards this and for any input you may have.

Thank you for your email inquiring and sharing your
thoughts about the proposed Surf Park in La Quinta. I
understand that my fellow Council Member Pena
forwarded some information to you from our city staff
regarding the requirements that are needed to make
the surf park happen. Unfortunately, the story ran and
the city wasn’t notified in advance. We would have
provided the reality of the status - that being there has
only been discussion and no submission or application.
Please let us know if you have further questions. Again,
we appreciate the feedback.
Thank you.
PS - Welcome to La Quinta! I hope to meet you in
person soon!

Dear Mayor Evans, Councilpersons
Fitzpatrick, Pena and Radi and Mayor
Pro Tem Sanchez:
I am a new (voting) resident to La
Quinta, having moved to Trilogy LQ in
November 2018. I've begun hearing
that a rezoning of property is being
contemplated (from residential to
commercial) to accommodate the
construction of a public recreational
water park on Madison, across the
street from the Andalusia division.
Had we had any idea the City would
contemplate such a rezoning in the
middle of this residential (and outlying)
section of LQ, we certainly would have
pursued other options for our home
purchase.
I respectfully request that each of you
support NO REZONING for the purpose
of accommodating a for profit
commercial and public water park in La
Quinta.
Respectfully submitted,
Cindy M. Harrison
