If the system being Installed Is only measuring PV production, the LGate can be mounted within 6' of the main electrical panel OR within V of the solar sub -panel. V Internet Connection The LGate should be connected to an Internet router via a direct CATS ethernet line. Make sure the Internet connection Is continuous (i.e. the customer's router is not regularly turned off). If a direct CATS ethernet connection Is not possible, an ethernet-over-powerline (EoP) connection may be used In some cases. An EoP connection requires two adaptors (one each at the LGats and at the router) and must conform to the following rules: i' 1) Both adapters must be plugged into outlets coming off of the same electrical panel. Having one off of a main panel and one off of a sub panel WILL NOT WORK, t 2) NArther adapter can be plugged Into a surge protector or a GFI outlet. Only standera wall ouIleis can be used. The LGats 101 E has a dedicated 110V outlet located In the top right hand comer of the box that can only be used If the above conditions are met. The LGete adaptor must be connected via CATS ethernet One to the ethernet port on the top left of the LGate. The second adaptor should be plugged Into a wati outlet near the router, and connected to the router with a separate CATS ethernet One. 'Host' Light Indicates an active Internet connection to Locus servers. If it has a connection, it will show solid green. if not active, but the local light Is, the local router is not connected to the Internet If this light is flashing, the LGate is uploading backlogged data. 'Local' Light Indicates if the LGate Is connected to the local Internet router. If It has a connection, it will show solid green. If not active, check the physical ethemet connection. 'ill' Light Is used at the factory only. Ignore this light 'Activity' Light Indicates if the LGate Is powered. If the LGate has power, ft will blink green, If off, check the voltage reference/power lines and the LGate's dedicated breaker. 'Error Light 9 this light shows red coneWtantly and for more than two minutes stralght, there may be an Intemal software or hardware problem with the LGate. Contact your company's ofice to arrange for additional troubleshooting or replacement. LGate 101 E Installation Completion Checklist BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE INSTALL SITE MAKE SURE THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE MET o There Is an active Intemel connection between the LGate and Loess servers. Both'host and'bcal' lights are showing solid green and not blinking. A solid'bcar light with a flashing 'hoar light may occur If the LGate has been Installed for some time without an active Internet connection, and means that the LGate is uploading previously collected data to the server. 'Hoer light should turn solid when this is done. o The Imerhos) are switched on. If you have an LCD display, make sure the kW from the Inverter matches then on the LCD. o The CT(s) are gMng positive readings. if LCD kW readings are correct but negative, the CT Is connected backwards. Alternatively, the LEDs on the green circuit board Just up and to the left of the CT terminal bock may be used. All three are labeled, a green light means a positive reeding, red means negative. In a consumption monitoring system, make sure the Inverters are swtWW'ofr before looking at the HCT lights. o Confirm that the IrUllatlon has been performed correctly and to code (all wiring Is encased properly and the enclosure is property screwed shut). o if other features such as Inverter direct monitoring are also being Installed, you have followed the appropriate additional Install gulde(s). o If necessary, you have called to confirm with your orgenbetlon that the system is up, running, and reporting data o nwty.
