Approval of this permit is granted pursuant to LQMC Section 9.100.140 (Temporary -Outdoor Events). This approval authorizes you. to install the temporary tent pursuant to the application on file as TUP 2007-775, subject to the following Findings and Conditions: FINDINGS: 1 The public roadways surrounding the event area are capable. of handling the anticipated traffic volumes generated from this event. No significant effects are anticipated which would be detrimental to the health, safety and public welfare of the community, with implementation of the proposed traffic control plan and required conditions of approval. 2. The event is categorically exempt from environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), under CEQA Guidelines, Section 15304(e). 3. Facilities, either existing or temporary,' such as parking, restrooms, security, fighting, seating, and fire, etc., will be provided to accommodate event staff, visitors, and employees. 4. The required conditions will ensure that tenants and residents within the surrounding area will not be adversely affected by' this event. The City of La Quinta shall have the right to select its defense counsel at -its sole discretion. The City of La Quinta shall promptly notify the applicant of any claim, action, or proceeding and shall cooperate fully in the defense. The applicant shall comply with all provisions. of the La Quinta Municipal Code (LQMC). The tent is permitted between the dates of December 27, 2007 - January 2, 2008. Set up for the tent may begin December 27, 2007 prior to the' actual event. The tent shall be removed no later than January 2, 2008. Permits for the tent shall be obtained prior to installation. Prior to set-up, please contact the La,Quinta Building & Safety Department and Riverside County Fire Safety at (760) 863-8886 for any additional requirements of the Fire Marshal. Fire lanes shall be established and/or maintained during the event. 5. Portable generators shall be shielded to prevent accidental contact with guests. Extension cords shall be ground -secured to prevent tripping. Any lighting shall be directed away from s6rrounding residential properties. No spot or searchlights are permitted. 6. Obtain a building permit for temporary electric service and any other required items (e.g. bleachers, trailers, portable generators, etc.). Contact the Building and Safety Department at (760) 777-7012 for permit requirements. All temporary electrical wiring shall be secured to prevent physical hazards to the public and participants. Wiring/cords shall not be subjected to environmental or physical -damage. 1, 8. All temporary outdoor lighting'shall comply with Section 9.100.150 of the Zoning Ordinance. All temporary lighting shall be turned off within one hour of the conclusion of events. The use of spotlights, searchlights, or other such aerial illumination devices is prohibited, as per City Ordinance. 9. Any and all private security personnel contracted for these events shall be easily identifiable to the public by the provision of uniformed personnel. ' All designated private security personnel must be licensed by the State of California and possess a valid Private Security license. 10. Temporary signs for the event shall require a separate sJgn permit. This Temporary Use Permit approval does not constitute approval for a temporary sign permit. All event areas shall be left free of debris at the end of the day's activities, and after the event concludes. 12. All parking shall -be contained on-site, within the Hideaway Golf Club. Road ways/traf f ic aisles to structures and activities in and around the event tent shall be maintained accessible to emergency vehicles at all times. If used, parking monitors shall wear light-colored clothing and reflective vests as needed. Flash lights shall be used after dusk. 13. The event location shall not deviate from the portion of the site identified in the attached site plan. Adjacent fire lane access shall remain unrestricted at all times. 14. If any ground excavations are required, please contact Underground Service Alert (USA) at 1-800-227-2600 or 1-800-422-4133. This service is free of charge provided USA is given two days notice prior to commencement of work. 15. The tent shall be installed on December 27, 2007 and shall be removed on or before January �, 2008. The City may elect to add Conditions to this application request to mitigate any problems that arise not previously addressed herein.
