Building Official
City of La Quinta
Re: Cartwright Residence, 51-360 Calle Guatemala, La Quinta, Ca 92253
Dear Tom,
We have performed Structural Observation per C.B.C. section 1702 for the rough framing at the
above referenced project and find it to be in General Conformance with the approved City plans and
calculations with the exception of the following:
Provide shear panel blocking with A35. as per reference detail 6/S5.2 for shear wall 2 between
existing garage and dining room addition.
Please note this structural observation letter does not relieve the City in any way from performing
their standard structural inspections nor is it in lieu of any code required special inspections. The
structural observation performed should not be construed as a detailed structural inspection but as a
structural observation for general conformance as per CBC 1702, 220.
If you have any questions please call.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey B. Young, S.E.

NOTE: Lowrise residential buildings subject to the Standards must contain these measures regardless of the compliance approach used. More stringent compliance
requirements from the Certificate of Compliance supercede the items marked with an asterisk (7 below. When this checklist is incorporated into the permit
documents, the features noted shall be considered by all parties as minimum component performance specifications for the mandatory measures whether
they are shown elsewhere in the documents or on this checklist only.
