Dear Mr. Ackerson:
This letter is'to report approval of your recent application for a
setback adjustment, pursuant to Chapter 9.188 of the City of La
Quinta Planning & Zoning Regulations. The following setback
adjustment has been approved subject to conditions and in accordance
with attached Exhibit A.
SETBACK ADJUSTMENT: Tre1`lis—into—front^yard setback to_wit_Fiiri
16 feet�of the existing property line.
FOR: Carport attached to the existing single family home
CONDITIONS:
1. Obtain necessary building permits.
2. The front yard setback for the carport shall.not be less than
16 -feet from the front property line.
After review it was determined that:
1. This adjustment is consistent with the intent and purpose of
the zoning ordinance.
2. There are special circumstances applicable to the property, 11
including such factors as size, shape, topography, location or
surroundings that justify approval of the adjustment. These
special circumstances are: 1) the existing side yard setbacks
precludes the owner from having an accessory structure in hiso
rear yard, and 2) the structure will not affect the
1 neighborhood because the trellis is over the existing on-site"
driveway. °
