The Community Development Department has reviewed and approved your request for a
single sided, v -shaped, illuminated monument sign for The Cliffhouse Restaurant, located
west of the entrance to The Cliffhouse Restaurant on Highway 111, La Quinta. The
approval is subject to the following Conditions:
1. This sign permit is for one v -shaped, permanent internally illuminated monument
sign with a stucco finish:
2. Sign letters shall be push through acrylic and shall read "CLIFFHOUSE FRESH
FISH GREAT STEAKS". The font, color, materials and location of the sign lettering
shall comply with the approved plans on file with the Community Development
Department.
3. The stone veneer on the base of the sign shall be consistent with the stone fagade
of the Cliffhouse Restaurant building.
4. Each side of the sign shall not exceed forty (40) square feet in area.
5. The monument sign shall be located approximately eighty (80)7.feet from the
centerline of Highway. 111.
6. The two existing wood monument signs (one west of the entrance to the restaurant
and the other on the mountain) shall be removed. The site of shall be left clean and
shall be returned to pre -sign construction conditions.
7. A landscape plan shall be submitted at the time of sign completion. The landscape
plan shall identify all existing landscaping, landscaping to be removed, and plant
location and type to be planted. The plan shall consist of plants that enhance the
existing architecture of the building, the sign, and the site.
8.. The sign shall conform to the design standards set forth in Section 9.160.040 of the
City of La Quinta Municipal Codes.
9. If required, a building permit shall be obtained from the Building & Safety
Department prior to installation of the sign.
