TUESDAY, JUNE 1, 2021
CALL TO ORDER
A special quarterly meeting of the La Quinta Housing Authority was called to
order at 6:22 p.m. by Chairperson Fitzpatrick.
This meeting provided teleconferencing accessibility pursuant to Executive
Orders N-25-20, N-29-20, N-33-20, N-35-20, and N-60-20 executed by the
Governor of California, in response to the state of emergency relating to novel
coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and enabling teleconferencing
accommodations by suspending or waiving specified provisions in the Ralph M.
Brown Act (Government Code § 54950 et seq.).
PRESENT: Authority Members: Evans, Peña, Radi, Sanchez, and Chairperson
Fitzpatrick
ABSENT: None
VERBAL ANNOUNCEMENT – AB 23 was made by the Authority Secretary

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. APPROVE QUARTERLY MEETING MINUTES DATED APRIL 20, 2021
2. APPROVE SPECIAL JOINT STUDY SESSION BETWEEN THE CITY
COUNCIL AND HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES DATED
MARCH 16, 2021
MOTION – A motion was made and seconded by Authority Members Evans/Radi
to approve the Consent Calendar as submitted. Motion passed unanimously.

SPECIAL MEETING
Interim Finance Director Martinez presented the staff report, which is on file in
the Clerk’s Office.
Council discussed that expenses are slightly higher than revenues due to the
recent acquisition of the Dune Palms Mobile Estate property (Project); and
$500,000 has been allocated in the proposed fiscal year 2021/22 budget for
the Project’s building and site improvements, which are currently being
evaluated, and it is anticipated to present more specific estimates to Council
for review and consideration during the mid-year review of the budget.
City Manager McMillen noted that the Project is currently undergoing a capital
needs assessment.

There being no further business, it was moved and seconded by Authority
Members Peña/Sanchez to adjourn the meeting at 6:29 p.m. Motion passed
unanimously.
