Re: Coral Mountain Specific Plan
The Riverside County Fire Department has reviewed the Coral Montain Specific Plan and
appreciates the opportunity to provide comments. Additional site specific comments will be
provided by the Office of the Fire Marshal staff assigned to the City of La Qui nta as it pertains
to fire code compliance.
The proposed project will have a cumulative adverse impact on the Fire Department's ab ility
to provide an acceptable level of service. These impacts include an increased number of
emergency and public service calls due to the increased presence of structures, traffic and
population. The project proponents/developers will be expected to pro vide for a proportional
mitigation to these impacts via development impact fees.
Fire Department emergency vehicle apparatus access road locations and design shall be in
accordance with the California Fire Code, Riverside County Ordinance 460, Riverside County
Ordinance 787, and Riverside County Fire Department Standards. Plans must be submitted
to the Fire Department for review and approval prior to building permit issuance.
Fire Department water system(s) for fire protection shall be in accordance with t he California
Fire Code, Riverside County Ordinance 787 and Riverside County Fire Department
Standards. Plans must be submitted to the Fire Department for review and approval prior to
building permit issuance.
Prior to Building Permit issuance, the required water system, including all fire hydrant(s), shall
be installed and accepted by the appropriate water agency and the Riverside County Fire
Department prior to any combustible building materials placed on an individual lot. Contact
the Riverside County Fire Department to inspect the required fire flow, street signs, and the
required all weather surface access roadways. Approved water plans must be at the job site.
Further review of the project will occur upon receipt of building plans. Additional requirements
may be necessary at that time.
