Please add us to those who oppose this ridiculous proposal for a desert area. We researched the area before we
bought our home in La Quinta. We were aware of many of the possible nega[ves (dust from growing fields, Salton
Sea odors, San Andreas fault and others). However, the zoning for the proposed area was residen[al or we would
NEVER have considered buying in La Quinta. Such a radical change in zoning and the city’s general plan is absurd…
why have those things at all if they can be changed because someone with deep pockets comes in and greases a few
palms.
There is constant communica[ons that we need to conserve water, electricity and yet such a project is being
considered…how about the need for more middle class housing in the area? This project is not for locals and
most jobs will be low paying and service oriented, not careers.
