CJR Design (Rench, Chris) - RFQ SubmissionCover Letter on the Proposing Firm
CJRDesign is a full-service professional sculpture studio specializing in large-
scale abstract designs, fabricating unique works of art, which reflect our customer’s
values and artistic vision. We have worked with architects, public arts programs,
individuals, developers, and many community committees to help them all through
the process of finding art works that exceed their project expectations. All the
works are created using computer design and engineering programs to allow us to
produce site-specific sculptures at any scale. Once the design phase and engineering
is completed, we apply our twenty plus years of experience developing, fabricating,
finishing, delivering, and installing your one-of-a-kind sculpture to your site.
CJRDesign has been producing sculptures for over sixteen years and has placed over
thirty-two large-scale works for both public and private commissions in over
twenty-two states, Europe, and Canada. All the sculptures are designed and
fabricated in our Hood River Oregon studio. The 3800 square foot Hood River
studio staff includes two design and administrative people a CAD drafter and four
full time welders.
With our commitment to sustainability, we try to use a minimum of 10% and up to
30% recycled stainless and mild steel to complete the fabrication of the internals of
the sculpture. Although this will not be noticeable with the finished product, it is a
way for CJRDesign to be environmentally conscience and a good talking point
among the community and stakeholders of the projects.
At CJRDesign we pride ourselves on making sure all our previous customers are
happy to be references and almost everyone of our customers have returned to
contract us for other projects in their community. I view that as proof to o ur daily
commitment to quality, strict timelines, budgets and making it easy for our
customers. I can assure you that we can produce an iconic community-valued work
of art for any of your projects, with-in your time frame and at or below your budget.
I hope to have the opportunity to bring my expertise to your project s and that you
will see the creativity and timelessness inherent in my existing works.
