LETTER OF INTEREST
I am excited about the prospect of being on the La Quinta Artist Roster since it is my passion to
create engaging and exciting works of art that speak to diverse audiences. My strength is to
create sculptures that are beautiful as well as meaningful. I feel that my work would fit with the
unique experience that La Quinta strives to provide to its citizens and many visitors.
My sculptures convey elements of our spiritual essence, transcending the divide between
intuition and intellect, between nature and culture. An awareness and deep desire to bridge and
heal this divide has been a lifelong mission central to all my work. I started out as a painter and
later switched to physics. I did my graduate research participating in a seminal experiment
probing the foundations of quantum physics in one of the world's leading research groups at the
University of Vienna. My science training enables me to take advantage of the latest
technologies to achieve my artistic visions. But most importantly, my first-hand experience of
the enigmatic nature of reality has provided me with key cultural insights, informing my path
ever since.
I have created numerous large-scale sculpture commissions for private collectors, universities,
colleges, and companies all over the country; each one tailored to the clients' specific site and
culture. Many have become signature pieces, proudly associated with their commissioning
body. In addition to my commissioned works I regularly show at international art fairs and
galleries, and have works around the world. My work has been covered in the media worldwide
and on several occasions such coverage has gone viral, see for example Sculptures Disappear
into Thin Air with over 15 million views.
To ensure the highest possible quality standards, we fabricate all works in our large sculpture
studio in Portland, Oregon. Our team consists of eight craftspeople, including master welders
and artisans skilled in all other fields of metal fabrication, as well as computer graphics and 3D
printing specialists.
I look forward to our potential partnership on a future project.
Yours sincerely,
Julian Voss-Andreae
