executed by the Governor of California, in response to the state of emergency relating to
novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and enabling teleconferencing
accommodations.
Project Title: Coral Mountain Resort
Scoping Meeting: As part of the Notice of
Preparation (NOP) public comment period for this
project, the City of La Quinta will hold a virtual
Scoping Meeting via Zoom on March 30, 2021, at 4

environmental consultant on the project and the
environmental issues identified to date as part of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review
of the project; followed by an opportunity for all in

each speaker. The comments made at the Scoping
Meeting will help to establish the scope of the
Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project.
The EIR will be prepared in accordance with CEQA to
evaluate the potential environmental impacts associated with the implementation of the
project. Please RSVP for the Scoping Meeting to Nicole Sauviat Criste at
consultingplanner@laquintaca.gov. The City will send all that RSVP a link to the Zoom
meeting by return email.
Comments can also be submitted in writing, prior to the close of business on April 2, 2021

the name, phone number, and address of your agency’s contact person in your response.
Project Description: As described in the NOP, the project encompasses an area of
approximately 929 acres south of Avenue 58, north of Avenue 60, and east and west of
Madison Street. As a part of the proposed project, the 386-acre portion of the site west
of Madison Street, south of Avenue 58 and north of Avenue 60 is proposed to be removed
from the existing Andalusia Specific Plan (SP 03-067) and developed as a master planned
resort community. This portion of the project proposes to develop up to 600 dwelling
units; a resort facility with up to 150 rooms and 57,000 square feet of tourist commercial
uses; 60,000 square feet of neighborhood commercial uses; and open space recreational
uses on approximately 23.6 acres. In addition, the project proposes a 16.62-acre artificial
wave basin for recreational purposes.
