The following shall be considered as incorporated into the project plans and specifications
for the above referenced project. Portions of plans and specifications not specifically
mentioned in this Addendum remain in force.
PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
Section 1110:
Sheet 1110-3, Section 7.0, Preparation of Bid Forms, replace basis of award
sentence in paragraph 1:

The basis for award shall be the lowest combined price of the Base Bid Area.
Is Amended to Read
The basis for award shall be the lowest combined price of the Base Bid Area plus All
Additive Alternates.
Section 1210:
Section 1210 is replaced; the following is a summary of the changes:

Section 4000:
Sheet 4000-2, Section 5.0, Clearing and Grubbing, add the following Sub-
Section 5.1 Sand Filter Maintenance, after payment clause:
5.1 Sand Filter Maintenance
Sand filter maintenance shall be performed as follows:

1. Pump all water from access/sand filter vaults and legally dispose. Clean
water may be pumped to a different location within retention basin. All
other water/combination water debris must be removed from site.
2. Remove and legally dispose of all debris within the access/sand filter
vaults. Re-establish 36” clear space area per La Quinta Retired Standard
Plan 370.
3. Remove 18” of existing fine sand and legally dispose. Contractor may
use a vacuum truck as needed.
4. Rough rake exposed remaining sand to loosen surface.
5. Place new fine filter sand, depth 18”. Sand shall be 100% passing a
No.45 sieve (.35mm) with uniformity coefficient between 2 and 3.
Record drawings of existing systems are provided for information only.
Contractor shall inspect facility prior to starting work.
There are a total of eight (8) access/sand filter vaults part of the scope. The
vaults can be accessed through existing removable grates at the surface of the
retention basin.
Sand Filter Maintenance shall be paid for at a lump-sum (LS) contract
price and no additional compensation will be allowed. Payment shall include
full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, disposal,
and doing all work involved as outlined in the bid documents and in furnishing
and placing new fine filter sand and no additional compensation will be allowed
therefore.
Sheet 4000-7, Section 11.0, Miscellaneous Metal Items, Add the following
after second paragraph:
Metal fencing shall be constructed to the dimensions, color, and shapes shown on the
plans.
Metal fencing shall be painted conforming to the provisions in Section 59, “Structural
Steel Coatings”, of the State Specifications. Color shall be as shown on the plans to
be approved by the City prior to the application.
Sheet 4000-20, Section 14.0, Keystone Concrete Retaining Block Wall, Sub-
Section 900-5.2, remove reference to cap in paragraph 2 as shown:

Unit weight: 93-lbs/unit (42 kg/unit) minimum for standard weight aggregates.

Dimensional tolerances: ± 1/8" (3 mm) from nominal unit dimensions not including
rough split face;
Unit size: 6" (152 mm) (H) x 16" (406 mm) (W) x 10-3/8" (286 mm) (D) minimum;
Unit weight: 60-lbs/unit (27 kg/unit) solid core minimum for standard weight
aggregates. 42-lbs/unit (19 kg/unit) cored core minimum for standard weight
aggregates.
CLARIFICATIONS
Q1. Please provide specification as to desired texture of walls to be refinished as
noted sheet 6 of 24 notes 4 and 6.
A.1 Texture shall match existing adjacent texture per Specifications,
Section 4000, Section 12.0, Wall Cleaning and Painting, Sub-Section
310-1.2.

Q2. Please confirm only 7000 sf wall to be retextured/repainted.
A.2 The wall shall be retextured/repainted only as needed and as agreed
upon by the City. It is anticipated that 7,000 SF would be impacted.
The Contractor is hereby notified; Addendum No. 2 must be acknowledged and
initialed as stipulated under the instructions to Bidders and submitted as part of
the Bid. Failure to do so shall result in the City designating said bid as "Non-
Responsive."

Pursuant to the Invitation to Bid, and in accordance with the provisions therein
stated, the undersigned hereby proposes and agrees that on award by the City under
this Bid, to execute a Contract, with necessary bonds, to furnish and install any and
all labor, materials, transportation and services for Project No. 2016-03F2 &
2016-03F3, La Quinta Landscape Renovation Improvement – Desert Pride,
Marbella, and Sierra Del Rey, in accordance with the plans and specifications
therefore adopted and on file with the City within the time hereinafter set forth and
at the prices named in this Bid. It is understood that the basis of award shall be the
lowest total price of the Base Bid Areas plus All Additive Alternates.
Unit prices in each and every case represent the true unit price used in preparing the
bid schedule totals (Bid Form). Unit prices listed herein include material, installation
and appurtenant work as is necessary to have the item complete and in place
meeting the full intent of the plans and specifications. We acknowledge that
unbalanced unit prices shall be sufficient cause for the rejection of our bid.
