NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held
in the City of La Quinta on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the following Officers:
One (1) Mayor seat to serve a full term of two (2) years
Two (2) Council Member seats to serve full terms of four (4) years each
Any resident, registered to vote in the City of La Quinta, may submit a Declaration of
Candidacy with the La Quinta City Clerk at any time. Official Nomination Forms for
any person desiring to file for any of these offices will be available at the La Quinta
City Clerk's office between July 18 and August 12, 2022.
If an incumbent does not file for re-election by the August 12, 2022, filing deadline, the
nomination period for that office position only shall be extended by five (5) additional
calendar days through August 17, 2022, by 5 p.m.
The polls will be open on Election Day, November 8, 2022, between the hours of
7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
MEASURE TO BE VOTED ON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following measure is to be voted on
at the General Municipal Election to be held in the City of La Quinta,
on Tuesday, the 8th day of November, 2022.
The measure was placed on the ballot by an initiative petition.
Shall the measure, proposing to phase -out and YES

Current City law bans the issuance of new permits for short-term vacation rentals in
non-exempt areas of the City, but allows for renewals of permits annually if an owner
of a residential dwelling had a valid short-term vacation rental permit on or before
August 4, 2020.
If the measure is adopted, City law would be amended so that, by December 31, 2024,
renewals of otherwise valid short-term vacation rental permits would be prohibited,
except in exempt areas of the City, as specified in the measure. If the measure is
adopted, new and renewal permits would be allowed only for residential dwellings
where the owner lives on -site or in the dwelling throughout the rental occupant's stay,
except in exempt areas of the City, as specified in the measure.
Current City law has comprehensive regulations relating to short-term vacation
rentals, which require every owner of a residential dwelling, rented for 30 days or less,
to obtain a permit. A short-term vacation rental permit must be renewed annually. A
short-term vacation rental permit is not transferrable upon sale of the dwelling.
A "Yes" vote would be in favor of the measure. A "No" vote would be against the
measure. If a simple majority (50% + 1) or more of the City of La Quinta electorate
voting on this measure vote "Yes," the measure would be adopted.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of
La Quinta on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the following Officers:
One (1) Mayor seat to serve a full term of two (2) years
Two (2) Council Member seats to serve full terms of four (4) years each
Any resident, registered to vote in the City of La Quinta, may submit a Declaration of Candidacy
with the La Quinta City Clerk at any time. Official Nomination Forms for any person desiring to
file for any of these offices will be available at the La Quinta City Clerk’s office between July 18
and August 12, 2022.
If an incumbent does not file for re-election by the August 12, 2022, filing deadline, the
nomination period for that office position only shall be extended by five (5) additional calendar

at the General Municipal Election to be held in the City of La Quinta,
on Tuesday, the 8th day of November, 2022.
The measure was placed on the ballot by an initiative petition.

Current City law bans the issuance of new permits for short-term vacation rentals in non-
exempt areas of the City, but allows for renewals of permits annually if an owner of a
residential dwelling had a valid short-term vacation rental permit on or before August 4, 2020.
If the measure is adopted, City law would be amended so that, by December 31, 2024,
renewals of otherwise valid short-term vacation rental permits would be prohibited, except in
exempt areas of the City, as specified in the measure. If the measure is adopted, new and
renewal permits would be allowed only for residential dwellings where the owner lives on-site
or in the dwelling throughout the rental occupant’s stay, except in exempt areas of the City, as
specified in the measure.
Current City law has comprehensive regulations relating to short-term vacation rentals, which
require every owner of a residential dwelling, rented for 30 days or less, to obtain a permit. A
short-term vacation rental permit must be renewed annually. A short-term vacation rental
permit is not transferrable upon sale of the dwelling.
A “Yes” vote would be in favor of the measure. A “No” vote would be against the measure. If a
simple majority (50% + 1) or more of the City of La Quinta electorate voting on this measure
vote “Yes,” the measure would be adopted.
