where this application is in the process, and if it will require Planning Commission and/or City Council

To Whom it May Concern,
The Morrow Ranch is a nine‐acre equestrian facility located with direct access off Monroe Street. The
property contains an existing large ranch estate, an approximate 6,000sf enclosed barn, a 5,600sf/90,000‐
gallon swimming pool and ample open space. The property is surrounded by an existing 8’‐10’ block wall,
tree lined perimeter with horse bridle path and accessed through a gated entry off Monroe Street. The
following information is being provided as a request for a temporary use permit to host events on
property.
Description of Activity – planned events on property include but are not limited to weddings, corporate
gatherings, Coachella corporate event(s), glamping and family retreats that exceed the allowed number
of daytime occupants outlined in the short‐term vacation rental permit (Permit # LIC‐765296). The
primary event focus is on weddings and the attached wedding event diagram is a depiction of the typical
wedding layout. Most wedding events will occur on Saturday evenings between 5pm and 10pm. During
a typical 3‐day wedding weekend (Thursday – Sunday) it would also be standard for a rehearsal dinner
(5pm ‐10pm) the evening before the wedding night. The event in its entirety including all required parking
will be held on private property and not within any portion of public right‐of‐way.
Maximum Number of People Working: 25 coordinators and vendors during weddings
‐ In addition to our hired property management company we also have 3 full‐time ground
keepers. We also require that during any classified event our personal Event Manager is to
be present on‐site during all vendor setup, during the event and through vendor break down.
Maximum Attendance: 500
We have generated a strict list of property rules for events which require portable restrooms to be
installed, trash/dumpster service, valet, and security based on a tiered level of proposed attendance.
Most events will have amplified music and there are rules in place to adhere to the City of La Quinta noise
ordinance and quiet times. Noise monitors and cameras are also installed around the property to ensure
all rules are obeyed.
