Hi Zoe,
I would like to have a call. I believe our commissioner is referring to the water
budget but we can certainly discuss to make sure we all understand the
questions. Thank you!

Hi Cheri,
I am back in the office this morning and looking at your quesMons. Before trying to address these quesMons, I
need some clarificaMon, as I am not sure what you are referring to when you inquire about water allocaMons.
CVWD does not issue water allocaMons. CVWD does develop individual water budgets for all residenMal and
large landscape customers to encourage responsible and efficient water use. The water budgets are the basis
of the Mered water rate structure.
Perhaps it would be useful to set up a Mme for a brief call so that we can beZer address your quesMons.
Regards,
Zoe

Hi Zoe, Michael,
I received a couple of questions regarding water allocation that one of our
planning commissioners had while reviewing the EIR documentation for the Coral
Mountain Resort project proposed in La Quinta, south of Ave 58 and west of
Madison. Could you take a look at the questions listed below and provide
responses? We would like to have these responses by next Wednesday, Sept 15,
if possible. Thank you for your help and have a great day!
• In general, how accurate over time have estimated allocations been? Over
the last 5 years what is the actual usage of major projects of water
compared to CVWD pre-construction allocation?
• If a project exceeds the original allocation by CVWD what are the corrective
actions taken, what is the impact on future demand?
• If penalties, fines or other punitive actions are taken what is the impact on
the cost to the project and to the income of CVWD?

• What if any changes have been made to the CVWD water allocation process
in consideration of likely long-term drought conditions in the Coachella
Valley?
