Farhad,
The staff at La Quinta would like to discuss the submitted VMT analysis with you and get a better
understanding how these work. This is the 1st VMT analysis we've received since the July 1, 2020 deadline for
having VMT included with projects now. Can you read the attached 8-9 page letter and then we have a ZOOM
call where we all could discuss?
Let us know what your availability this week is - so we can calendar a call
Thanks

Steve,
Is there someone at Wildan who can help us understand the VMT analysis better? Cheri and I would really
appreciate having a consultation with someone who knows how this analysis works. Please let us know!

My summary:
the VMT analysis was submitted, the project says it will mitigate its VMT as follows:
• the required reduction is 15%, the project reduces just 10.3%
• the project wants to claim several TDM measures to make up the difference:
O 3% for use of non -autos for nearby commercial trips from residential homes
O 2% for pedestrian sidewalks to interconnect residential and commercial
O 1% for TMD strategies like publications, event promotions and residential benefits to use
the resort amenities
• Therefore 10.3% + 6.0% if allowed would be greater than 15%
• and the employment side of VMT is 21.56 for entire Coachella Valley and this project is 21.53 -
so they say they have no mitigation for this aspect
