I'm writing as a hopeful future resident to voice my support for the proposed Coral Mountain residential project. I live in Manhattan Beach, CA with my wife and two young daughters. After learning about this development, we have begun to plan our lives around owning a vacation home there. The surfing pool, high -end amenities and healthy lifestyle orientation have made us confident that this is a perfect place for our family...and we have NEVER thought second homes were a good idea previously. I know there are concerns among some residents who I believe are largely misunderstanding the situation. First of all, despite what movies like Fast Times at Ridgemont High and other films have portrayed, surfers (including myself), are mostly very responsible mild mannered adults. We are stereotyped as wild teenagers with no regard for the rule of law or peace and quiet. If you go to a surfing beach and count 10 people who are actually riding a surfboard, probably just 1 or 2 of them will be less than 30 years old, and a couple will be in their 60s. Furthermore, most live near the beach (because that's where the waves have been until now) in multimillion dollar homes. As such, most are doctors, business owners, and professionals, not drug dealers or bank robbers like in the movies. We are a health conscious group of people who find time spent in the water to be very relaxing. Second, I had the good fortune of being able to surf the other wavepool using this top -of -the line technology in Lemoore, CA. It was almost startlingly quiet. I honestly could barely believe it. I cannot imagine the noise causing one bit of bother to existing residents hundreds of feet away. Third, this project will attract hundreds of multi -millionaires to your fine city. They will play golf and patronize the stores and restaurants. They will boost the vitality of your local businesses and allow these businesses to invest in better offerings for the community. All of this will further boost the tax revenue that La Quinta will have at its disposal. I'm proud of my family and I think we are fairly representative of the other people who plan to buy homes (some of whom are friends of mine), so I'll tell you a bit about us. We love the beach and my daughters are learning how to surf, but the cold ocean water and unpredictable waves make for slow progress in the Pacific Ocean. My wife and I are both Ivy League 1 of 2 5/29/22, 1:42 PM Firefox https://outlook.office.com/mail/deeplink?Print educated including a masters degree. We are both professionals in the investment industry. We are polite and responsible nature lovers...not loud obnoxious partiers. We just want a place to go together where we can unwind, have a healthy lifestyle and enjoy a sport that's inclusive for the whole family. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll also sneak off and play some golf! Thanks for your time in reading this and considering the many benefits that this world class development can have for La Quinta. Sincerely, Britt Joyce cell: (310) 717-1598 2 of 2 5/29/22, 1:42 PM
