I live at 51560 Avenida Obregon La Quinta, Can. 92253 I am absolutely opposed to the Coral Mountain Surf Park Project. The State of California has been in an historic drought for more than 15 years. Wildfires have destroyed hundreds of thousands of acres of our land and displaced thousands of people when their homes have burned to the ground. Our lakes and rivers are at historic lows and we have no end in sight. This is only the tip of the dried out dirt clod. Additionally, there are 3 other water wasting Surf Parks in the Coachella Valley. While Surf Parks outside the Coachella Valley are going bankrupt and being torn down at the taxpayers expense, we need to stop this outrageous and costly playground for profit by the greedy developers and the City Council of La Quinta. Our precious water resources are at risk through out the entire State of California with little hope of replenishment. We do not need another drain on our precious resources simply to satisfy the wants of the few. Our wildlife has been negatively affected by the over building of rediculous play grounds and they have no options for relief or protections in the Coachella Valley. Please do not allow the Coachella Valley to become another overcrowded wasteland like the Salton Sea once was. Currently the State is preparing to spend Billions of dollars on the Salton Sea clean up and restoration due to it's overdevelopment and neglect. Do not encourage the irresponsible development of La Quinta and the surrounding area. Do not push pollution from traffic, noise and air quality into our neighborhoods simply for profit for a few greedy developers and overvalued City Council members. We, the taxpayers, will be taken to the cleaners by this Project. We will have to pay for it, not the developers or the City Council who will only profit from this unnecessary and intrusive project.
