I can tell you, in general, fire and police costs are high due to the rising costs of those contracts that we have with the County. And the costs keep rising every year. Fire not as much as police. You can review the City's budget to see how much we have allotted to those costs. https://www.laquintaca.gov/business/budget I'm not sure if Measure G is applied to new developments. New developments pay Development Impact Fees, or DIF, to offset their costs. The amounts of the DIF fees are on the website. https://www.laquintaca.gov/business/design- and-development/development-impact-fees-dif There are several categories of fees they pay into, including police, fire, roads, library, etc. DIF fees are assessed when the building permits are issued. Cantera will pay the current DIF fees when their permits are issued. I hope this helps! Please use proper judgement and caution when opening attachments, clicking links or responding to requests for information. ** Good morning. Is there someone I can speak with who can help me understand how the costs for fire and police is calculated by the town? I am assuming the very high costs in the revenue impact for Coral Mountain were due to the nature of the hotel, wave pool, and STVRs. I am making an assumption that if there was an equivalent number of low density residential on that property with no STVRs, and no hotel and wave pool, the police and fire would be a lot less money. Also, Measure G says it has money for police. I am trying to understand if that is applied toward new developments. I would also like to understand what the developer for Cantera on 58th is being charged for police and fire and is it standard practice to charge the developer. Thanks for the information.
