RIGHT OF WAY IN THE SANTA CARMELITA AT
VALE LA
QUINTA SUBDIVISION, UNIT NO.2.
STRE.ET VACATION CASE NO. 98-037
WHEREAS, the Public Streets, Highways, and Ser-
vice Easement Vacation Law, commencing with
Section 8300 of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State ()f California empowers City Councils
wl1h the authority to vacate street Right-of-Way
within Its ilJrlSdlctlon that are found unnecessary
for presen or prospective public street purposes;

WHEREAS, 'the City Council is required by law to
adopt a resolution declarIng Its intention to vacate
the subject portion of Rlght.of-Way at least lS days
prior to cond ucting a public hearIng regarding the
proposed street vacation; and
WHEREAS, the CIty Council Is required to conduct
the public ht!arlng to hear evidence presented by
any Interesh!d partr. prIor to approving or relect-
Ing the prop,osed s reet vacation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIJ~, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. I~ursuant to the procedure prescribed
in Chapter 3 of the Public Street, Highways, and
ServIce Easement Vacation Law, the City Council
of the City of La Qulnta declares Its Intention to
vacate por1'l0ns of Avendia Obregon, more
specIfically
described on ExhibIts "A" and "B", whIch are on
file In
the Office ot the PubIc Works Director.
SECTION 2. l~fUbllC hearing will be conducted on
the 17th day 0 March, 1998, at 7:00 p.m. In the La
Qulnta City C:ouncll Chambers, 78-495 Calle Tampi-
co La Qulnta" California, at which tIme all persons
Interested In or objectIng to the proposed vacation
will be heard.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall cause thIs Resolu-
tion to be published at least fifteen days before the
date set for the hearing.
SECTION 4. "he City Clerk shall cause this Resolu-
tIon to be pos,ted within fifteen days after Its adop-
tion in three (3) public places established by the
City Council.
SECTION 5. The Public Works Director shali cause
this Resoluticm and Exhibits "A" and "B", to be
conspicuousl1' posted In the proposed vacation
area at iocatuons not more than 300 feet apart, as
least two wee'ks prior to the public hearing sched.

lar meeting elf the La Quinta City Council held on
the 3rd day ot February, 1998 by the following vote:
