A regular meeting of the La Quinta Housing Commission was called to order at 4:00 p.m.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. APPROVE MEETING MINUTES DATED MARCH 8, 2023
MOTION — A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners Casto/Pacheco to
approve the Consent Calendar as recommended. Motion passed: ayes — 4; noes — 0;
abstain — 0; absent — 0; vacancy — one (1).
BUSINESS SESSION
1. DISCUSS AND APPROVE FISCAL YEAR 2023/24 PROPOSED HOUSING
AUTHORITY BUDGET
Housing Authority Treasurer Martinez presented the staff report, which is on file in the
Clerk's Office.
The Commission discussed the City/Housing Authority purchases of vacant land on
Highway 111; and potential timeline and cost for development of the vacant parcels.
MOTION — A motion was made and seconded by Commissioners Chapman/Pacheco to
recommend Housing Authority approval of fiscal year 2023/24 Housing Authority Budget

COMMISSIONERS' ITEMS
Chairperson Gaeta-Mejia requested adding a Business Session item to the next regular
quarterly meeting of the Housing Commission on September 13, 2023, proposing
changing the meeting start time from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, to better align it with the
Commissioners' schedules. The Commission concurred.
Management Analyst Kinley noted the City Council and Housing Authority will hold the
City's annual Boards and Commissions interviews on June 30, 2023, starting at 9:00 a.m.;
applicants must be present for consideration.

There being no further business, a motion was made and seconded by Commissioners
Chapman/Pacheco to adjourn this meeting at 4:13 p.m. Motion passed: ayes — 4; noes
