AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
WITH ALEXANDER JOHNSTON
This Amendment No. 1 ("Amendment 1") to Temporary Employment Agreement
("Agreement") is made and entered into as of the 1st day of October 2023 ("Effective
Date") by and between the City of La Quinta ("City"), a California municipal corporation
and Alexander Johnston ("Employee").
RECITALS
WHEREAS, on or about July 1, 2023, the City and Employee entered into an
Agreement to employ said employee as Temporary Management Analyst in the Public
Safety Department on a temporary status; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to amend the Agreement to extend the term thereof;
and
WHEREAS, the City and the Employee mutually desire to amend this Agreement,
as provided below.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenant herein contained, the
parties agree as follows:
AMENDMENT
In consideration of the foregoing Recitals and the covenants and promises
hereinafter contained, and for good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency and
receipt of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. Section 2A. Term is amended to read as follows:
Section 2. Term.
A. Temporary employment shall commence on July 1, 2023, which shall also be
deemed the effective date of this Agreement and will terminate on December 31, 2023.
In all other respects, the original Agreement shall remain in effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City and Employee have executed this Amendment
to the Agreement on the respective dates set forth below.
