C1 page 1 of 1 Description The Gamewell-FCI Velociti® Series, addressable monitor module AMM-2F is a single Style B, Class B initiating device circuit (IDC) with a 47KW end-of-line resistor. This module provides an address for any device or group of devices connected to this circuit on the signaling line circuit (SLC) of the Gamewell-FCI addressable series fire alarm control panel. Any initiating device with normally open (N.O.) dry contacts may be made addressable when connected to the AMM-2F module. The Velociti® Series use a communication protocol that substantially increases the speed of communication between the sensors and certain Gamewell-FCI analog addressable fire alarm controls. These devices operate in a grouped fashion. If one of the devices in the group has a status change, the panel’s microprocessor stops the group poll and concentrates on the single device. The net effect is response speed up to five times greater than earlier designs. The AMM-2F module can be programmed to provide a wide variety of input functions to the Gamewell-FCI ad- dressable series fire alarm control panels. It can be iden- tified as a manual station, heat detector, plenum detec- tor, waterflow switch, tamper switch, N.O. contact, smoke detector, projected beam smoke detector, sub loop, remote zone, etc. It can also serve as a remote system silence, system reset, system acknowledge or drill switch. It is even possible to customize its device type to meet specific job requirements. The initiating device circuit of the AMM-2F can support a maximum line resistance of up to 40 ohms allowing the use of linear heat detection devices. The compact size facilitates the installation of the module inside manual stations, or mounting boxes of various types of alarm initiating devices. Velociti® and E3 Series® are registered trademarks of Honeywell International Inc. The Velociti® Series use a communication protocol that substantially increases the speed of communication between the SLC devices and certain Gamewell-FCI analog addressable fire alarm control panels. These devices operate in a grouped fashion. If one of the devices in the group has a status change, the panel’s microprocessor stops the group poll and concentrates on the single device. The net result produces a superior response speed up to five times greater than earlier designs. The AOM-2RF Module is designed for installation in the signaling line circuit of any Gamewell-FCI analog addressable fire alarm control panel. The module contains a panel controlled LED. Attached is the FA plans with the field notes of observation and concerns. Here is a partial recap of items needing to be addressed: [1] As-Built Plans that correctly identify all connected devices, circuits, modules, relays and functions of the system a. Correct the identification locations of the EOL for the various NAC circuits as consistency and accuracy was not observed in the field. b. Perform and document a voltage drop test to each of these EOL locations to confirm compliance. Provide report or certification of compliance. c. Additional modules were identified in the field that were not referenced in the plans. Revised plans and calcs identifying these provisions and impact is necessary. d. Update sequence of operations to address the additional monitoring and operation services that are present on the system (elevator recall, fire door closers, fire dampers …) e. Correct the location on the plans of the FACU, FAC, SRD and smoke in the FACU room. [2] LI-M40 Module was observed in the field for the “Fire Damper Relay” but was not connected to any functioning/controlling element. Full building audit of smoke/fire dampers is necessary to confirm connection and operational functioning of these devices in compliance with the Sequence of Operations. Plans shall identify the locations of all smoke/fire dampers requiring control and monitoring. [3] Elevator Recall, Shunt and Fire Hat modules observed for the 2 elevator units. Update plans and confirm adequate compliance and monitoring. [4] Electric Panel 1LA Circuit 11 was not adequately marked for FACU supply nor was it locked out for tampering. [5] A vertical conduit of the FACU SLC/NAC service to the 2nd floor, located in the FACU room was observed to be penetrating the floor/ceiling fire rated assembly and not provided with fire-proof caulking appropriately. [6] Observed non-functioning WonDoor fire wall accordion assembly for protection of the east elevator lobby. This device shall be made operational and tied-in to the control functions of the FACU as detailed in the Sequence of Operation. [7] Duct Smoke Detector functioning testing shall be arranged and observed as follows: a. Magnahelic/Magnometer testing of the sensing tubes for correct orientation by HVAC Technician b. Magnet/Push-to-test shunt trip shutdown c. Smoke can detector testing and confirm signal report to FACU The following additional details associated with the active building permit shall be provided for: [1] See the attached Fire Conditions of Approval letter for the BCOM2021-0078 permit and ensure compliance with all items. a. Deferred submittal for adjustments to the fire sprinkler system (If any) is required. If no modifications are needed – C-16 shall provide report of site-visit consultation and determination of no additions or modifications required and filed in the permit attachments. [2] Architectural plans identify the need for additional illuminate exit signage as affected by the TI modifications to the room. In addition to these noted items, Ricardo Prado was provided with a list of general maintenance, housekeeping, testing, maintenance and safety items that require correction and improvement. These were not formally written up this time, so as to start with courtesy education prior to any need for enforcement. These should be handled promptly and reasonably prior to any reinspections, otherwise – corrective actions will be documented and enforced. Please let me know if you have any questions.
