(1) Hydrants shall be provided with a
minimum 36-inch radius of clearance around
all portions of the hydrant. Remove
vegetation and reset construction fencing to
provide the clearance.
(2) The Hydrant nearest the intersection of
Stone Creek Way and Stone Creek Trail West
needs to have the grading and landscaping
improved around it. For the 36" radius
around the hydrant the grade shall be
removed so as to provide a finished grade
not less than 18-inches below the lowest
valve fitting to allow for firefighter operation
and tool use. Consider using retaining

It is the responsibility of the recipient of these Fire Department conditions to forward them to all interested
parties. The case number (as it is noted above) is required on all correspondence.

With respect to the conditions of approval for the referenced project, the Fire Department requires the following
fire protection measures be provided in accordance with La Quinta Municipal Code and/or recognized fire
protection standards:
1. Construction Permits Fire Department Review: Submittal of construction plans to the Office of the
Fire Marshal for development, construction, installation and operational use permitting will be required.
Final fire and life safety conditions will be addressed when the Office of the Fire Marshal reviews these
plans. These conditions will be based on occupancy, use, California Building Code (CBC), California
Fire Code, and related codes, which are in effect at the time of building plan submittal.
2. Addressing: All commercial buildings shall display street numbers in a prominent location on the
address side and additional locations as required. Ref. CFC 505.1 and County of Riverside Office of the
Fire Marshal Standard #07-01
3. Install portable fire extinguishers per Title 19, but not less than 2A10BC in rating. Contact a certified
extinguisher company for proper placement and spacing of equipment.
These conditions are preliminary and further review will occur upon receipt of construction plans. Additional
requirements may be required based upon the adopted codes at the time of submittal.

FIRE CLEARANCE FOR PERMIT ISSUANCE OF LOTS 20-35 & 68-76 IS GRANTED.
Updating corrections identified at 9/22/2021 inspection. The following corrections still remain:
(2) The Hydrant nearest the intersection of Stone Creek Way and Stone Creek Trail West AND NOW THE ONE NEAREST
THE SALES OFFICE needs to have the grading and landscaping improved around it. For the 36" radius around the hydrant
the grade shall be removed so as to provide a finished grade not less than 18-inches below the lowest valve fitting to allow
for firefighter operation and tool use. Consider using retaining construction to create the clearance. *Or contact CVWD and
inquire to raise the hydrant to provide the 18-inches of vertical clearance from the valve fitting.
(3) There are two [2] hydrants missing at the northerly portion of Stone Creek Trail East.
(4) Provide and install all permanent Street Name signs that comply with the SP, City of LQ or RVC Fire Standards.

a) 32-feet, measured flow-line to flow-line, is required for parking on 1 side & 40-feet is required for parking on both
sides of the street.
b) Stone Creek Court and Palo Verde Place cul-de-sacs are required minimum fire department accesses and turnarounds,
no parking is permitted within them.
