Fire sprinkler riser is showing a residual flow
of only 35 psi while all other lots are flowing
about 50 psi (40-45 is common for the 3/4"
WM in this pressure zone). Checked all
valves and valve sizes. Contractor will need
to investigate.

Good day,
I managed to stop by the development this morning at about 10:00 am. I flexed the main drain valve on the neighboring house and observed 95psi static with 50psi
residual. I then flexed the main drain valve on Lot 37 (FSS2022-0232) and it showed 92 psi static and 40 psi residual. This flow pressure will be accepted for this lot. I walked
the house and confirmed that the project can be final approved by Fire. I have updated the Etrakit system appropriately.
CVWD – it is a concern that multiple neighboring lots show a consistent higher flow and sporadic lots, such as this one, present with a much lower residual pressure. The
fire sprinkler riser is just a means to sample the available water supply static and residual pressures with any consistency in a particular project or zone. It is not a method
for determining adequate flow/pressure for a particular hydraulic calculation, as it does not adequately identify or provide the system design flow of 31gpm.
Once a developer has made all reasonable test and checks of their water system on the downstream side of the water meter, consideration for the water meter assembly
should be handled as it was. But if still presenting with a low residual issue, increased confidence should be noted of the concern for the service line being impacted in some
way and therefore needing to be corrected (service cutout not complete / pinched line). If more low residual flows less than 40 psi come up in this project, further
investigation should be warranted as necessary.

Kohl, here is a run down of we have tested
Camera main line from street to house - clear
Bypassed fire riser and did flow test - 90 psi static and about 35 psi with flow test valve open.
Built a portable flow test valve with guage and installed directly to water meter - 90 psi static and about 35 psi with flow test valve open.
CVWD came out and changed out meter - 90 psi static and about 35 psi with flow test valve open.
CVWD checked pressure before and after meter. 90 psi
