Model RFC Series residential sprinklers are flat cover plate,
concealed pendent sprinklers intended for installation in Model RFC30 & RF03OLL
Model RFC43&RFC43LL
accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, or NFPA 13D. The
sprinklers are cULus Listed as. Residential Sprinklers in ac-
cordance with UL 1626. In addition, Model RFCLL Series
sprinklers are ci Certified for Health Effects to NSF/ANSI
standard 61 Annex G (LL) and Australian WaterMark Certified
(WMCS).
Model RFC30 sprinklers have a 165-F (74-C) temperature
_
rated fusible -link operating element. Model RFC43, RFC49,
RFC68, and RFC76 sprinklers are offered with either a 1651F
(74-C) or 212'F (ip0°C) temperature rated fusible -link oper-
ating element. Sprinklers with a 165'F (74°C) temperature Motlet RFC49 & RFC49LL
Model RFCS8
rating are ordinary temperature classification and are listed
for use with a 135°F (57°C) temperature rated cover plate.
Sprinklers with a 2121E (100°C) temperature rating are inter-
mediate temperature classification and are listed for use with
a 165°F (74°C) temperature rated cover plate.
Model RFC Series sprinklers are installed with a Model RFC

ther pushing or threading the cover plate Into the sprinkler

Product Description
Model F1 Res Series sprinklers are residential sprinklers with a
3 mm glass bulb operating element. A variety of K-Factors as
well as recessed and conical concealed options are available
as detailed in this Bulletin.
The F1Res Series sprinklers are specially engineered for fast
thermal response to meet the requirements of UL 1626. They
are Intended for installation in accordance with NFPA 13, 13R,
and 13D.
Application
The Model F1Res Series sprinklers cULus Listed Residential
sprinklers are intended for use in accordance with NFPA 13,
NFPA 13R, or NFPA 13D. The Model FiRes residential sprin-

not be used.

Note on plans states all 9'ft flat ceiling's under piping plan label, U.N.O. which
Represents unless noted otherwise. Those rooms are identified under the room label..

The water supply has been fixed on the calculations..
Correction # 4
Beams have been eliminated and will not be installed for this plan type and a 2 head calc
has been provided per section 10.2.1 (1).

Re: FCMP2019-0005 "ANDALUSIA / MASTER SPRINKLER PLAN / PLAN TYPE 2 1 "
The plans that have been submitted require the following corrections:
1. Provide Hydraulic calculations for the 2-head calc as noted on the plans for 15'x15' spacing. (Only
1-head 20'x20' calcs were provided.
2. Plans shall identify the ceiling height and slope for all areas.
3. Calculations packets do not correctly or efficiently identify the water supply. The CVWD
Residential Connection Charge Estimate identifies the system output water supply at the domestic
(discharge side) of the water meter. *Static Pressure is 97.40 psi / 96.32 Inlet pressure / 66.72 Outlet
(Residual) pressure while flowing 29.5 gpm. It is suggested to start the system calculations from the
discharge side of the water meter as the friction losses are already accounted for. The water supply
curve should be identified based on the Static (97.4) to Residual (66.72) while flowing 29.5 GPM.
a. Sprinkler system demand should not exceed 90% of the available water supply. (LAQ MUN
Title 8 amendments)
b. Water Supply info that was provided was 87.30 Static, 86.00 Residual, Flow 500 GPM.
4. Hydraulic Calculations and the Number of Design Sprinklers shall be consistent with NFPA 13D
Chapter 10 and Section 10.2.
a. Special attention should be given to 10.2.1(2) and the specific requirements for sprinklers
located in the beams and the room to not exceed 600 square feet
b. Rooms and design areas that do not comply with Section 10.2.1 and 10.2.3, Fire will accept a
minimum 3-head calc for these areas.
5. Plans identify the installation of components that are not specifically required by NFPA 13D (ITV,
Bell, FAU Attic Coverage when not located on habitable level). Provide plan notes, if desired,
identifying the inclusion of system components beyond the minimum requirements.
a. Bell location, if provided, should be located towards the front accessible side of the structure
and directed to the road or neighboring residence to ensure that it could be heard.
Questions should be directed to the Riverside County Fire Department, Office of the Fire
Marshal, La Quinta Office at 78495 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, CA 92253.

For the project listed above, I give approval for Nolan Sparks, general
contractor with T.D. Desert Development to signed and pick up permits/plans
for The Andalusia project. If any payment is due at the time of issuing permits
Nolan is also approved to make such payments.

Re: Residential Fire Sprinkler Plan Review — ANDALUSIA / Fire Sprinkler Master Plan 21

The sprinkler plans you submitted for the above referenced project have been reviewed by Riverside County
Fire Department - Office of the Fire Marshal personnel and are approved with the following conditions.
Contractor shall individually apply for Production Home permits associated with these approved plans and
pay the applicable fees. Individual job cards and permit numbers shall be issued.
The following inspections/tests are required to be witnessed by Office of the Fire Marshal Staff for each
permit:
(a) Overhead Rough and Hydro static test: All piping shall be visible and pumped at normal
operating pressure. *No jacketed electrical and data wiring shall be in contact with, nor have the
potential to contact CPVC piping once insulation is installed.
(b) Final inspection
The Fire Department approved plans and conditions letter must be at the job site.
Applicant/installer shall be responsible to contact the Fire Department to schedule inspections. Requests for
inspections are to be made at least 72 hours in advance and may be arranged by calling (760)777-7131.
All questions regarding the meaning of these conditions should be referred to the Office of the Fire Marshal
staff at (760)777-7074.
