Estimated Attendance: 800-1000 Cost: Ticketed event ($20 Early Bird, $35 General Admission at the door, $10 Designated Driver) Event Details: Brew in LQ is a craft beer festival that will take place in an activated parking area in the One Eleven La Quinta Center along Highway 111 (see map). The event will be completely fenced in and event attendees are required to show identification indicating they are at least 21 years of age or older to enter. Upon entry, guests will be provided with a wristband, tasting cup, and 10 drink tickets. Each drink ticket can be redeemed for one 4oz. pour of craft beer. Guests will only be served if they provide a drink ticket, when an individual has redeemed all of their drink tickets, they will not be given anymore tastings. Beer tastings begin at 5:00pm and pouring will stop at 8:45pm. Breweries can not sell any alcohol during the event; however, they can sell merchandise (t-shirts, hats, etc.) if they choose. The ABC license will be obtained by the City’s nonprofit partner, SCRAP Gallery. Two La Quinta Rotary Club volunteers will be stationed at each brewery to pour the beer tastings. Brewery staff are not allowed to pour beer, La Quinta Rotary volunteers are responsible for pouring all beer tastings. Cocktail tables will be set up throughout the venue and there will be a seating area featuring lounge chairs and tables. After entering the venue, guests can walk around tasting different beers, enjoy live entertainment, and partake in the dining options provided by food vendors. Lyft will set up a designated Lyft station (see map) offering easy access to safe transportation. Breweries: There will be approximately 15 breweries participating in the event this year. Breweries are required to arrive at the venue no later than 2:00pm the day of the event to ensure they have enough time to set up. Brewery booths will consist of a canopy, table, chairs, hand wash station as per health department regulations, ice, jockey box, and craft beer. Breweries can bring branded banners or giveaway items such as branded sunglasses or coasters if they choose. Entertainment: DJ Francesca Harding will play music for the duration of the event. In addition to a live DJ, the event will also include lawn games such as bean bag toss, giant beer pong, air hockey, foosball, and giant Connect Four. Local nonprofit SCRAP Gallery will install a decorative photo wall which will act as a festive backdrop for those who wish to take photos. Food: Four food vendors will participate in the event: Toscano’s (covered tent): Pizza, pasta, and salad Las Casita (covered tent): tacos, burritos, and nachos Straight and Marrow Noodle (covered tent): Vietnamese fusion The Big Easy Sandwich (food truck): sandwiches, burgers, and fries Each food vendor will have non-alcoholic beverages such as soda and water available for purchase. Security: The City of La Quinta will hire ten, unarmed security guards from Serna Security for the event. Two guards will be stationed at the entrance of the event to ID each guest, two guards will be stationed at the event’s exit, one guard will be stationed at each of the emergency exits, and the remaining guards will be roaming the event to ensure all event guests are following the rules/guidelines. In addition to Serna Security, the City will hire two-three uniformed Sheriff Deputies to be on site 4:30pm-9:30pm. Sheriff Deputies will be paid for using the Community Resource’s events budget. Parking: Parking is available in the parking areas surrounding the event (see map). The City events team has confirmed with the One Eleven La Quinta Center property owners that all parking lot lighting is working properly and will be monitored leading up to the event. Traffic Plan: Because the event takes place in a parking lot, there is no need to close streets. Event attendees can access and egress the venue via Highway 111. A small portion of the parking lot directly in front of the venue entrance will be closed to vehicle traffic so guests can enter and exit the venue safely. Equipment: Fencing, portable restrooms, and stage will be installed the day before the event, Friday, November 1, 2019. Additional event equipment and vendor equipment will be set up the day of the event. All event and vendor equipment will be removed at the end of the event except for the fencing and restrooms.
