Beam loads: Loads listed are uniformly distributed, for loads concentrated at center of span multiply uniform load at
table by .5 and multiply the deflection by .8. When deflection is not a factor use stress of 25,000 PSI. When deflec-
tion is a factor use deflection of .
Column loads: Loads listed are for unbraced heights as listed. Modulus of elasticity = 29,000,000 PSI. Slotted or

Re: New Fuel Storage Tanks Plan Review – SHARED SERVICES – GENERATOR FUEL TANK
FST2022-0001 / 52049 SILVERROCK WAY, LA QUINTA, CA 92253
The plans you submitted for the above referenced project have been reviewed by Riverside County Fire
Department - Office of the Fire Marshal personnel and require the following corrections:
[1] Project submittals included documents titled as “Approved Generator …” Be advised, these excerpts
from the BCOM2021-0094 are not “Approved” as both the Generator and the Fuel Storage Tank
requires deferred submittal. *The scope of the review under the FST2022-0001 is the Aboveground
Storage Tank (AST) and the piping and fittings associated with filling the tank. Fire will review the
Generator and functional uses under the deferred and separate BELC type of permit.
[2] Resubmittal documents and details shall give specific attention to the scope of the Fuel Storage Tank
and the piping and fittings associated with filling the tank.
[3] Expand on the information and details regarding the tank primary vent. Include enough information
to confirm compliance with the requirements identified by the applicable International Mechanical
Code (IMC) Section 1305.7 Vent Piping.
[4] Plans identified the plan for a Tank Fill line running from an exterior wall, into the building and a
distance to where it is terminating at the top of the tank.
a. Identify piping material and fittings in compliance with IMC Chapter 13 and the specific
material requirements identified in Table 1302.3.
[5] Provide plan details and notes of piping support in compliance with IMC Section 305.
All questions regarding the meaning of these conditions should be referred to the Office of the Fire Marshal
staff at (760)777-7074.
