Universities, and other federal government agencies with tree inventories, hazardous tree
assessments, and master management plans for the past twenty years. We are incorporated
in California and licensed to do business in numerous states throughout the country, but
California is our home. We are the premiere company in this space in Southern California
and our office is located in Yorba Linda, CA. Our address is 22605 La Palma Ave, Ste 509,
Yorba Linda, CA 92887, and we are located two hours from the City of La Quinta. Our website
address is: www.arborprousa.com, our Department of Industrial Relations Number is
1000047487 and our Taxpayer Identification Number is 30-0223853.
ArborPro, Inc. is a full-service Urban Forestry consulting company with Urban Tree
Inventory and Environmental Benefits reporting at the core of our business. We provide
municipalities, universities, and federal government agencies with a wide array of Urban
Forestry services to our clients nationwide. We provide GPS tree inventories, GIS -based
management software solutions, Environmental Benefits Reporting, disease, insect
infestation identification, and Urban Forest Management Plans. While we are experienced in
tree and landscape maintenance, it is no longer one of our core competencies. By not
providing tree and landscape maintenance services, we can ensure a completely non -biased
and accurate assessment of your urban forest.
ArborPro, Inc. is the local solution. We have completed numerous tree inventory projects
specifically in Southern California. Some of our clients include the County of Los Angeles,
LAUSD, UCLA, UCSD, CSULB, CSU San Diego, the Cities of Orange, CA, Lake Forest, CA, San
Diego, CA, Grand Terrace, CA, Temecula, CA, Lawndale, CA, and the City of Fountain Valley,
CA. ArborPro has worked closely with these Cities to ensure the integrity of their datasets
while integrating, merging, or updating their data management systems. We have worked
on over thirty projects funded by Cal -Fire, and ArborPro has recently been awarded
contracts to create an Urban Tree Management Plan for UCLA and a Master Plan for the City
of Colma, CA.
ArborPro's full-time professional arborists have years of experience working together as a
team. We feel that this Team's expertise allows us to be more efficient and accurate in our
data collection process, therefore, delivering a superior product before any deadline set
forth. We currently employ 45 people, including 20 ISA Certified Arborists (10 of which are
also TRAQ certified). All arborists the will perform the inventory are local Southern
California residents.
In addition to the field staff, our technical Team consists of Software Developers, IT
Specialists, and GIS Analysts to support GIS consulting and development all local to Southern
California. GIS services range from simple map assembly to complex Urban Tree Canopy
Assessments. The interdisciplinary mix of the ArborPro team rounds out our capabilities to

satisfy all urban forest management demands, whether to aid in future planning with a long-
term Urban Forest Master Plan, current management, or understanding past complications
for potential opportunity development.
We hope the City will strongly consider using a small, local California-based company to
perform your Citywide Tree Inventory Services.
A tree inventory is a time and money -saving tool that will benefit the City of La Quinta year
after year. The liability factor of damage to property and people will be significantly reduced
when hazardous trees are located and identified. Tree maintenance costs will be reduced
with the ability to create work orders for tree crews, making their job easier and saving time.
It is evident your City and your community appreciates the benefits of investing in their
Urban Forest. At ArborPro, we share this same commitment, and we look forward to
working with you.

ARBORPRO TREE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
.rPro
MAMA -GEMENT
ArborPro Inventory Data Collectors will record the required tree attributes onto our
proprietary ArborPro software suite, which utilizes the latest GIS (Geographic Information
System) technology to offer users an immediate visual representation of any tree. The
ArborPro software program can be reviewed at www.arborl2rousa.com, or a personalized
software demonstration is available upon request.
Ease of Use
Our Team of Certified Arborists and GIS professionals created the ArborPro Software Suite,
incorporating inputs from both field collectors and office managers. The result is a
comprehensive, easy-to-use yet powerful GIS tree inventory program that assists our clients
in effectively managing the Urban Forests. Due to its simplistic user interface, neither
extensive training nor computer knowledge is required for ArborPro proficiency. Data can
also be exported into an ESRI shapefile, thus allowing GIS personnel to analyze data in ArcGIS
format. ArborPro's software is also compatible with OPENGOV.
Map View — Integrated Mapping Component
Our mapping view provides the ability to view Full Extent, Zoom In, Zoom Out, Select Trees,
Identify Trees, Create New Sites, Move Trees, Draw Polygons, Add Base Layers, and perform
Spatial Queries. Utilizing the Select Tool, the user can select a grouping of trees to request
detailed information or create a work order.

Database View
The database view from ArborPro is an easy, sortable datasheet. It provides an easy way to
find an individual or group of trees in the database using location attributes. Double-clicking,
an individual tree brings up the tree detail form.
Tree Detail Form — Tree Sites
The Tree Detail form provides the tree's attribute information and a link to street view (if
available). Tree attribute details are customizable to fit client requests. Additional photos
can be attached directly from the field using a tablet or smartphone. These photos can
show damage and/or tree characteristics, for example, flower color. In more detail, any
tree attributes unspecified by existing fields can be recorded in the notes section. All data
fields can be customized by the user, the user can also add data fields at any time. Our
program is fully customizable by the user with administrative rights.
The Work History tab maintains all work records associated with each tree. This tab also
maintains scheduled work, if work is proposed or scheduled through the work order
system it will appear on each tree when the work tab is selected. Below are some sample
screen shots from our tree detail form, the first on the left shows the tree details, the
second is when you scroll down the form and see any pictures applied, the next is the work
history tab which is found on the same form under the tab work. You will also see four
buttons across the top of the form where the user can toggle to Google Street View, print
a detail report of that tree and the more options tab which includes the ability to share the
data for this tree to an associate or the public and the ability to open google maps. When
you select google maps you can get directions to that tree from your smartphone through
the google map program. The following screenshots details tab show the google street
view of the same tree.

Work Order Management — Work Manager
Our system was developed by Certified Arborists who understand the need for the field
crews to have a straightforward work order and map to complete their field
duties. ArborPro, Inc. created an easy-to-use work order system. The user can create a work
order from the database selection. This work order is accessible to the City Crew or
Contractor through any web -enabled device. Each location on the work order is assigned a
work number, and the points on the map are assigned corresponding location
numbers. Utilizing these corresponding numbers, the work crew can easily find the trees to
perform their work tasks. This information is then updated in the software program so that
all work history is entered in the program.

COMMUNITY VIEWER
Our Community Viewer allows the City to share all of the tree inventory data or a limited
dataset. The Admin user can select which trees to share and, more importantly, what data
to share with the public at large or other groups. For instance, if the user would like to
share the data for one council member's district trees, you can search for those trees,
select what data fields to share then send a link to that dataset. Many of our clients will
create a complete tree inventory Community Share link and share it on their website.
ArborPro, Inc. recently completed the City of Los Angeles Arboretum tree inventory. We
are setting up a QR code so that visitors to the Arboretum can click the QR code as they
enter the Arboretum and then access the data as they walk through the Arboretum. The
program shows where you are walking in the Arboretum you then click a tree and access
the data. Below you will see that the data fields are limited to the selected fields to share
and google map photo is also accessed.
REPORTING CAPABILITIES
The ArborPro reporting capabilities are both easy to use and powerful. The user has the
capability to customize reports to meet their needs. Any type of charts and graphs are
accessible. The reports can easily be printed or created in a pdf format. Furthermore, you
can download your complete dataset or any selected data set in an excel or csv format,
including Lat/Long coordinates for use in other GIS programs.

CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CA
The City of Palm Springs awarded ArborPro, Inc. the contract to perform a tree inventory,
provide software, and a 5 -year management plan. Before the survey, the City did not have a
tree maintenance plan. The City had maintained a reactive program responding to
complaints and emergencies. Led by Ken Greby, ArborPro, Inc. provided the City with a
comprehensive inventory, including the city -owned golf courses, parks, city facilities, and
city right-of-way trees. Once we completed the survey, the staff at ArborPro provided an
Urban Forest Master Plan that included a 5 -year maintenance program. The City Council
adopted the Plan and moved forward with the proactive maintenance plan. The Plan
included a detailed eco -benefit analysis, City Council Meetings, Community Meetings, and
overall environmental impact reporting. The City has since hired ArborPro for ongoing
consulting services to help prepare an RFP for tree maintenance and to monitor the tree
maintenance contractors. This tree inventory consisted of over 15,000 trees citywide; it
included over 2,000 trees on the golf course. Timeline: September 2014 - December 2014

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS - PARKS DEPARTMENT
Beginning in 2018 ArborPro's inventory team, Including Mason Burdick, Ken Greby, Richard
Sulley, and Matthew Karody, started working on the L.A. County Department of Public Works
street tree inventory. Over the next two years, our team surveyed over 180,000 tree sites,
including stumps and vacant planting sites. Based on the success of this project, the L.A.
County Parks Department hired ArborPro to complete an assessment of all of the trees in
County Parks. This separate project began in January 2022 and was completed in June
2023. The Parks Department purchased unlimited licenses of the ArborPro Enterprise
program and has already started to use the system to manage all of their trees.
Due to the quality of the work our team of Arborists provided, the County of Los Angeles
Parks Department added some unique locations that were not initially included in the tree
inventory scope. These locations include the L.A. Arboretum, Descanso Gardens, and the
Hollywood Bowl, among other Botanical Gardens and Theatre locations. ArborPro is in the
process of setting up our Community Viewer for the L.A. Arboretum. Guests of the
Arboretum are going to be able to scan a Q.R. code on their smartphone upon entering the
property and access the L.A. Arboretum tree data. As guests walk through the property, they
can click on individual trees to access the species, dbh, and height information. We are also
working on adding historical data to the application so the quest will also be able to learn
the individual tree's history and that species' history. Below is a screenshot of the
Arboretum database.

ArborPro, Inc. began operations on a comprehensive inventory of the trees for the City of
San Diego in the Fall of 2017. The ArborPro team, Jeff Davidson and Nick Townsend led by
William Brown, performed a detailed tree assessment of 100,668 tree sites. This project
was funded by Cal Fire's Urban Forestry Grant program. The data collected included the
location, health, size, species, maintenance recommendations, etc., for all the trees within the
City right-of-way. All the data collected was given to the City in an ExceIT" database and
ESRI® shapefiles and then integrated into the City's GIS program. ArborPro completed the

METHODOLOGY
ArborPro Inc. is offering to conduct a comprehensive GIS -based tree inventory of municipally
managed trees for the City of La Quinta. Our ISA Certified Arborists will work with the City
to collect the proposed tree attributes, identify potential planting sites, and assess tree
conditions in the field. ArborPro will compile the database using our ArborPro urban forest
management software Enterprise 2.0 and complete all project tasks by the July 1, 2024,
deadline.
ArborPro, Inc. has completed projects in the state of California from 2,500 to 300,000 trees
with various tree management plan and community outreach scope requirements.
ArborPro, Inc. was recently awarded a summer project for UCLA and the City of Colma, CA.
Being a local firm, we have the ability to meet in person with City staff, council, and
community groups at any time. We are familiar with the tree species, local pests and long-
term management needs. We'll provide La Quinta with the most experienced local team
available. We understand the species diversity required for this area and which species
should be planted in available spaces based on parkway size, existence of overhead utilities,
climate issues, etc...
Our close proximity to La Quinta, experience on similar projects and qualified staff should
not be overlooked. The flexibility for any member of our management team including the
president to show up in person for any community meeting or council meeting at a moments
notice will enhance the relationship, public outreach perspective and overall project success.
We propose sending a team of highly educated ISA Certified Arborists led by ISA Certified
and TRAQ Arborist Mason Burdick to complete the tree inventory phase of this project. We
currently employ 64 people, including 20 ISA Certified Arborists (10 of which are also TRAQ-
certified). The team will conduct a tree inventory of approximately 7,000 city -owned trees
for the City of La Quinta and provide analysis and recommendations.
PROJECT WORK PLAN
ArborPro Inc. is offering to conduct a tree inventory and provide analysis and

The ArborPro software has quality assurance scripts to identify potential data entry errors.
The Operations Manager will perform the quality assurance scripts to create a series of work
orders for the Project Manager to inspect. Repeating issues will be discussed with the Data

Weekly Review
The data collected by each Inventory Specialist is reviewed by the Project Manager weekly.
Once our team has run the quality assurance scripts, we will provide the Project Manager
with a series of work orders for him/her to inspect. We will assign Mason Burdick as the
Project Manager to maintain the highest integrity regarding species. He is uniquely qualified
to review our data, especially regarding species. Our data collectors are trained not to
"guess" about a tree species. If they do not know the species 100%, they are trained to
categorize that tree as an "Other Tree." This way, we can quickly search the dataset for "Other
Trees" in a zone. Mason will then go into the field, identify the trees, and update the dataset.

communication ensures consistent accuracy to allow better budget planning. Continuous
communication also guarantees immediate action on concerning issues, thus producing
high-quality results.

Weekly reports will be emailed to the City representatives) to review the project status. The
report will include detailed maps of the complete areas, a list of trees surveyed that week, a
list of trees under Priority 1 Maintenance for immediate action of the required prescription,
and any other concerns regarding data or progress. Weekly meetings are also available if
the client wishes.
Final Summary Report
Upon completion of the Tree Inventory, ArborPro will provide a final narrative, a Close-out
Summary Report of the observations to summarize the data collection process, basic
statistics related to the inventory, and the identification of high-risk trees for priority
removal. The terms used during the data collection will be defined to maximize inventory
utility. ArborPro will present findings of the environmental benefits of the assessment and

Excellent - The tree is near perfect
condition; this determination is generally
used for trees with no defects and young
trees that have been properly maintained.
Very Good - The tree is in very good
condition with very minor defects that
could be corrected by pruning. These trees
generally "stand out" with respect to the
aesthetic value they add to the Urban
Forest.
Good - The tree has no major structural
problems; no significant damage from
diseases or pests; no significant mechanical
damage; a full, balanced crown, and normal
twig condition and vigor for its species.
Fair - The tree may exhibit the following
characteristics: minor structural problems
and/or mechanical damage; significant
damage from non-fatal or disfiguring
diseases; minor crown imbalance or thin
crown; minor structural imbalance; or
stunted growth compared to adjacent
trees.
Poor - The tree appears healthy, but may
have structural defects. This classification
also includes healthy trees that have
unbalanced structures or have been
topped. Trees in this category may also
have severe mechanical damage, decay,
severe crown dieback or poor vigor/failure
to thrive.
Dead - Trees in advanced states of decline
are not included. This category refers only
to dead trees.

Priority 1 Removal - Trees
designated for removal have Tree condition
defects that cannot be cost-
effectively or practically treated.
The majority of the trees in this
category has a large percentage
of dead crowns and poses an
elevated level of risk for failure.
Any hazards that could be seen
as potential dangers to persons
lAic:
or property and seen as
potential liabilities would be in
goo
this category. Large dead and
dying trees that are high liability
risks are included in this 130o(. Fail Poor
category.
Priority 2 Removal - Trees that
should be removed but do not
pose a liability as great as the
first priority will be identified
here. This category would need
attention as soon as "Priority
One" trees are removed.
Priority 1 Prune - Trees that
require priority one pruning are
recommended for trimming to
remove hazardous deadwood,
hangers, or broken branches.
These trees have broken or
hanging limbs, hazardous
deadwood, and dead, dying, or

Priority 2 Prune - These trees have dead, dying, diseased, or weakened branches
between two and four inches in diameter and are potential safety hazards.
Routine Prune - These trees require routine horticultural pruning to correct structural
problems or growth patterns, which would eventually obstruct traffic or interfere with
utility wires or buildings.
Training Prune - Young, large -growing trees that are still small must be pruned to
correct or eliminate weak, interfering, or objectionable branches in order to minimize
future maintenance requirements. These trees, up to 20 feet in height, can be worked
