style elements. The building features an asymmetrical plan with stepped massing, with the building's elevation highest at the main entrance.
Exterior walls are clad in white stucco. It has a flat roof. A white stucco wall extends from the building and surrounds portions of the property,
creating an enclosed courtyard at the front entry and boundary walls along the driveway. The building features decorative elements such as
wood vigas and decorative quatrefoil ornaments above the windows and doorways. The front elevation features a large fixed picture window,
partially enclosed by by the exterior walls, creating a recessed opening. The building has an attached garage at the rear. Character defining
features of the Pueblo Revival style that are seen on the subject property include the flat roof, projecting vigas, stucco exterior walls, stepped
roofs, and blunt edges. The Mission influence can be seen in the Mission style shaped roof parapet and the decorative quatrefoil details.

The 77535 Calle Chihuahua property was researched at the City of La Quinta, the La Quinta Historical Society, the La Quinta Public Library, and
via online archives including Coachella Valley Telephone Directories (1946-1957), City of La Quinta building permits, regional newspapers within
the UC Riverside California Digital Newspaper Collection, aerial imagery from ca. 1930s forward, and the Riverside County Assessor's Office

Goodell owned the property in 2021.
The home was built in the Pueblo Revival style within the Santa Carmelita Unit 21 tract, recorded in 1943, and is within the La Quinta Cove
neighborhood. In 1932, E.S. Kiener purchased thousands of acres of land in what would become the La Quinta Cove neighborhood. The area was
subdivided into a grid of small vacation home lots. Sixty-three casitas were built between 1935 and 1941, the first residences in the Cove. These casitas
were built in the Spanish Colonial Revival style to imitate traditional Spanish style homes. In the following years, the La Quinta Cove neighborhood
would continue to infill with single family residence, constructed in a wide variety of architectural styles.
The dwelling was constructed within the proposed La Quinta Cove Historic District during the period of significance, but the architectural style was
not consistent with the Spanish Revival style associated with early development within the Cove between 1934 and 1950. The dwelling is associated
with the theme of Residential Development (1934-1970s), but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. The
property is assigned a 6Z status code: Found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR or Local Register through survey evaluation.
The dwelling is not individually eligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with significant events or patterns of
events in local, regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible under Criterion B/2/B, as it has not been identified as having an association
with an important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does not embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or
method of construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information
which could be considered important in local, regional, state, or national history. Additionally, the property is not individually eligible under Local
Register Criterion A, as it was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. The residence has been significantly altered with
several additions and the addition of prominent architectural details on the front facade. The dwelling has been substantially altered and no longer
maintains integrity from the historic period.
