*P3a. Description: The one-story single-family residence at 79885 Fiesta Drive was built in the Tract Ranch style. It has an L-shaped plan
and low-pitched cross dutch gable roof with broad overhanging eaves. The exterior walls are wood frame clad with board and batten siding,
with stone veneer around the front entry. The building faces northeast from the south side of Fiesta Drive with an asymmetrical façade. The
roof has open eaves with a facia board, and clad with asphalt composite shingles. The residence has a stone veneered chimney. The
fenetration at the front elevation consists of vinyl framed sliding windows and a wooden front door. The wood front door is located in a
recessed entryway with a wooden framed sidelite on the east side of the door frame. An attached garage with a gable end faces southwest at
the rear of the house in the southwest corner. Character defining features of Ranch style homes that can be seen on the subject property
include: asymmetrical façade, wood frame construction, attached garage, a low-pitched roof, board-and-batten siding, and a recessed front
porch.

The 79885 Fiesta Drive property was researched at the City of La Quinta, the La Quinta Historical Society, the La Quinta Public Library, and via
online archives including Coachella Valley Telephone Directories (1946-1957), City of La Quinta building permits, regional newspapers within
the UC Riverside California Digital Newspaper Collection, aerial imagery from ca. 1930s forward, and the Riverside County Assessor's Office
online property search. Results are limited. The property is not listed in available Coachella Valley Telephone Directories. See Continuation

*B6. Construction History: The subject property was constructed in 1964 by the Westward Ho and Bellwood Discount Corporation. In
1986, property owner Jeffrey N. and Susan Decker obtained a permit to install a new sewage pit; the work was completed by Don Epps Bell
Plumbing (Permit No. 00205). In 1988, property owner Mark and Cathy Sanchez obtained a permit to build a 120 LF 6ft high block wall
(Permit No. 003761). In 1988, Mark Sanchez obtained a permit to build a pool and spa; the work was completed by Steve Dodson
Construction (Permit No. 003854). In 2000, Mark Sanchez obtained a permit to abandon the septic tank and connect residence to the sewer
system; the work was completed by Econo Sewer Service (Permit No. 0012-190). In 2017, property owner Elizabeth Uher obtained a permit to
change out water heater, the work was completed by Statewide Services Inc dba statewide con (Permit No. 2017-0050). Aerial photography
did not offer any additional information regarding changes to the property over time. Between 2013 and 2014 an owner added a rear patio
cover. The windows at the front elevation and the roofing materials are replacements, however, the essential form of the building has
remained intact.

Past owners and occupants include: Jeffrey N. Susan Decker (1986; Permits), Mark & Cathy Sanchez (1988-2000; Permits), Elizabeth Uher (2017;
Permits). Jeffrey N. Decker worked as a Senior Regional Manager and Vice President of a local Progressive Insurance branch in Palm Desert while he
lived at the subject property.
The home was built in the Tract Ranch style within the Indian Springs residential subdivision, recorded in 1960-61, and is within the Indian Springs
(previously the Westward Ho Golf Club) neighborhood. The subject property was constructed in 1964 by the Westward Ho and Bellwood Discount
Corporation, who built Tract Ranch style homes with Custom elements between 1961 and 1965.
The dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-1970s), being located in one of La Quinta's first subdivisions after the
development of the Cove, but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. The property is assigned a 6Z status
