Description: The 79930 Horseshoe Road property is a one-story, wood frame single-family residence. It was built in the Spanish Styled Ranch style. The building faces west from the end of the Horseshoe Road cul-de-sac. It features an irregular plan with an asymmetrical façade. The dwelling has a low-pitched side-gable roof, clad with red terracotta tiles and with a brick chimney. The roof has broad overhanging, open eaves with a facia board and exposed rafters. An attached garage is located on the north side of the front elevation. The exterior walls of the dwelling are clad in board-and-batten. The fenetration at the front elevation consists of single-lite aluminum framed sliding windows and a pair of wooden front doors with a center panel lites. The recessed entryway is located beneath an eave overhang. Statement of Significance Continued: Past owners and occupants include: John Slater (1966-1985; Desert Sun) and Michael Slater (2010-2011; Permits). John slater was a member of the Indio Chamber of Commerce, president of the Boy's Club of Coachella Valley, and vice president of Coachella Valley Disposal Inc. Michael Slater was the general manager of Coachella Valley Disposal Inc. The home was built as a Spanish Styled Ranch within the Indian Springs residential subdivision, recorded in 1960-61, and is within the Indian Springs (previously the Westward Ho Golf Club) neighborhood. The subject property was constructed in 1966 by an unidentified builder. The dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-1970s), being located in one of La Quinta's first subdivisions after the development of the Cove, but it does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme.
