*P3a. Description: The 48850 Avenida Anselmo property is a one-story, wood frame single-family residence. It was built in the
Contemporary style, facing west from the east side of Avenida Anselmo. It features a T-shaped plan with a symmetrical front façade. The
dwelling has a low-pitch cross-gabled roof clad in asphalt and gravel with a front-gable at the front elevation. The roof has broad overhanging
boxed eaves. A detached garage is located on the north end of the property. The exterior walls are clad in stucco. The fenetration at the front
elevation consists of steel framed fixed-pane windows within the gable end. The entrance is within a concrete masonry walled courtyard
shielded from view at the public right-of-way. Character defining features of Contemporary style homes that can be seen on the subject
property include: a symmetrical façade, broad expanses of uninterrupted wall surfaces, and walls around the front porch or courtyard.

The 48850 Avenida Anselmo property was researched at the City of La Quinta, the La Quinta Historical Society, the La Quinta Public Library,
and via online archives including Coachella Valley Telephone Directories (1946-1957), City of La Quinta building permits, regional newspapers
within the UC Riverside California Digital Newspaper Collection, aerial imagery from ca. 1930s forward, and the Riverside County Assessor's
Office online property search. Results are limited. The property is not listed in available Coachella Valley Telephone Directories. See

construct a 26 LF 6ft high block wall (Permit No. 157241). In 1968, Bigler obtained a permit to construct a private swimming pool (Permit No.
153625). In 1968, Bigler obtained a permit to construct an accessory building (Permit No. 157034). In 1968, Bigler obtained a permit to
construct a 290 LF 6ft high block wall (Permit No. 164911). In 1968, Bigler obtained a permit to construct a roof attachment to the dwelling
(Permit No. 157125). In 1998, property owner Neil Wallach obtained a permit to construct a garden wall; the work was completed by Classic
Builders (Permit No. 9805-0020). In 2007, property owner Charles Coulter obtained a permit to construct an addition to the residence (Permit
No. 06-3846). In 2007, Coulter obtained a permit to remodel the residence (Permit No. 07-1224). Aerial photography did not offer any
additional information regarding changes to the property over time. Despite recent renovation efforts, the form of the original dwelling
remains intact.

Past owners and occupants include: Jack Bigler (1967-1968; Desert Sun / Permits), Neil Wallach (1998; Permits), and Charles Coulter (2007; Permits).
Jack Bigler was an avid golfer at the La Quinta Country Club and participated in many local tournaments.
The home was built in a Contemporary style in the La Quinta Country Club subdivision, recorded in 1959, and is within the La Quinta Golf Estates
neighborhood. The subject property was constructed in 1965 by an unidentified builder.
The dwelling is associated with the themes of Residential Development (1934-1970s) and Recreation and Leisure (1926-1970s), being located in La
Quinta's first private country club and the first residential neighborhood associated with club. However, the property does not possess individual
