The 80080 Vista Grande property was researched at the City of La Quinta, the La Quinta Historical Society, the La Quinta Public Library, and via
online archives including Coachella Valley Telephone Directories (1946-1957), City of La Quinta building permits, regional newspapers within
the UC Riverside California Digital Newspaper Collection, aerial imagery from ca. 1930s forward, and the Riverside County Assessor's Office
online property search. Results are limited. The property is not listed in available Coachella Valley Telephone Directories. See Continuation
Sheet for significance and integrity conclusions.
*B6. Construction History: The subject property was constructed in 1972. In 1995, property owner Jimmie Lee Rutledge obtained a
permit to reroof. The work was completed by CV Roofing (Permit No. 15291). In 1998, Rutledge obtained a permit to replace a water heater.
The work was completed by Valley Plumbing (Permit No. 9812-001). Aerial photogrpahy indicated that a remodeling campaign between
1980 and 1984 added a pool and expaned the footprint of the home in the rear, altering the original form of the building. The vinyl windows at
the front elevation are all modern replacements.

Past owners and occupants include: Jimmie and Pamela "Pam" Rutledge (1976-1998; Desert Sun / Permits). Jimmie Rutledge worked as an Indio
School District teacher. His wife Pam was a a student council advisor and teacher at Abraham Lincoln Elementary.
The home was built as a Tract Ranch style home with Custom elements within the Desert Date Garden subdivision, originally recorded in 1924. The
subject property was constructed in 1972 by an unidentified builder.
The dwelling is associated with the theme of Residential Development (1934-1970s), being located in one of the early subdivisions outside the Cove
during the mid-20th century. However, the property does not possess individual documented significance in relation to this theme. The property is
assigned a 6Z status code: Found ineligible for NRHP, CRHR or Local Register through survey evaluation.
The dwelling is ineligible under NRHP/CRHR/Local Criterion A/1/B, as it has not been associated with significant events or patterns of events in local,
regional, state, or national history; not individually eligible under Criterion B/2/B, as it has not been identified as having an association with an
important person; not individually eligible under Criterion C/3/C, as it does not embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of
construction; and not individually eligible under Criterion D/4/D, as further study of the dwelling would not appear to yield information which could
be considered important in local, regional, state, or national history. Additionally, the property was not found to be individually eligible under Local
Register Criterion A, as it was not found to exemplify a special element of the City of La Quinta. The dwelling has been substantially altered and no
longer maintains integrity from the historic period.
