Housing Commission — Vacancies: 4 Primary -functions -are -to -review and make recommendations to the Housing Authority on matters regarding housing, policy procedures, proposals, and programs. The Board meets on an "as needed" basis. Coachella Valley Conservation Commission (CVCC) - Trails Management Subcommittee — Vacancies: 2 The CVCC established a Trails Management Subcommittee in 2008 to annually review and evaluate the Public Use and Trails Plan for the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains, and to provide input on trails issues related to the Coachella Valley Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (Plan) to the CVCC. The CVCC is a joint powers authority of elected representa- tives that overseas and manages the Plan, which is a shared regional vision for balanced growth to conserve Coachella Valley's natural resources while also building a strong econ- omy vital to our future; it protects 240,000 acres of open space and 27 species, enhances infrqstructure without envi- ronmental conflicts, offers opportunities for recreation, tourism and lob creation, and ensures the survival of endan- gered species. The CVCC has no regulatory powers and no land use authority. Its primary purpose is to buy land from willing sellers in the conservation areas and to manage that land.
