RESOLUTION NO. 2024 — 032
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, PLACING A SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT AND PROVIDING FOR COLLECTION ON
TAX ROLLS OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES FOR COSTS OF
ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCE
WHEREAS, Chapter 11.72 of the La Quinta Municipal Code provides for the
declaration and determination of certain conditions of property to be a public nuisance
and further provides for the abatement of said nuisance by certain procedures including
abatement by the City and collection of the cost of said abatement on tax rolls via a special
assessment; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with said abatement procedures, the Public Safety
Deputy Director of the City of La Quinta, as agent of the City Manager, has determined
that a public nuisance exists on the following described premises, and has given the
notice required by law, and the owner thereof has failed to appeal said determination and
has failed to abate said nuisance as required in said notice; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with said abatement procedure, the Public Safety
Deputy Director has, by contract, provided for the abatement of said public nuisance on
said properties and has filed a report thereon with the City Council; and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of August 2024, the City Council of the City of La
Quinta, California, did hold a duly noticed public hearing on said report and a special
assessment of said costs against said properties, and upon hearing and considering all
testimony and arguments of all interested persons desiring to be heard, if any, the City
Council did approve said report.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
La Quinta, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby finds, determines, and declares that the City
has abated a public nuisance on each of the following described premises, and on August
6th, 2024, held a duly noticed public hearing on special assessment of the costs of said
abatement in the time and manner as required by law and further determines that there
were no objections or protests to special assessment of said costs by any interested party.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds, determines, and orders that the report
of the Public Safety Deputy Director relative to special assessment of costs is hereby
approved, and the City Council hereby orders that the following costs are hereby placed
as a special assessment against the following properties and the amount of said special
assessments shall be collected at the time and in the manner of ordinary property taxes.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy of the
Resolution to the tax collector of the County of Riverside and said tax collector is hereby
requested to collect the amount of each special assessment herein at the time and in the
manner of ordinary property taxes.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta City
Council held on this 6th day of August 2024, by the following vote:
