The Travertine project consists of 1,200 residential units, two community parks, 8,700 square foot (sf) resort/spa facility with a 45,000 sf boutique hotel
and restaurant, 100 resort villas (97,500 sf), 46.2-acre resort/golf facility with a four-hole golf training course and 5,500 sf golf academy, a 1,000 sf
clubhouse, and 10,000 sf banquet restaurant (500-seat capacity). The project also proposes on-site and off-site drainage infrastructure, recreational
open space consisting of a 5-mile public trail system, public staging areas, gathering areas, and passive and active spaces on approximately 55.9
acres. Natural open space land uses are proposed on approximately 301.2 acres on the southern portion of the project property for conservation and
preservation purposes. The project also involves a Development Agreement which would vest the project entitlements, allow for short-term vacation
rentals, and provide for the establishment of a facilities district to construct and maintain infrastructure.
The La Quinta Design and Development Department has prepared an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for this project pursuant to the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Planning Commission considered the project on May 28, 2024, and June 25, 2024, and recommended certifying
the EIR, and approving the General Plan Amendment, Zone Change, Specific Plan, Tentative Tract Map and Development Agreement.
