SUBJECT: TEMPORARY USE PERMIT 2024-0012
OUTDOOR FURNITURE PARKING LOT SALE
Dear Ms. Brown:
The Design and Development Department has reviewed and approved your request to establish
a temporary commercial sales event of outdoor patio furniture for Teak Warehouse in The
Pavillion at La Quinta parking lot. The approval of the sales lot is granted under Section
9.100.120 of the La Quinta Municipal Code subject to the Conditions of Approval listed below
and the attached Conditions of Approval from the Fire Marshal’s office:
1. By holding the sales event, the applicant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold
harmless the City of La Quinta in the event of any legal claim or litigation arising out
of the City’s approval of this project. The City of La Quinta shall have the right to select
its defense counsel at its sole discretion.
2. The applicant shall obtain a City of La Quinta business license and provide a current
California Seller’s Permit issued by the state board of equalization with the City of La
Quinta listed as a sublocation.
3. The outdoor patio furniture sale may be open on Saturday, December 7, 2024
between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 8:00p.m.
4. The outdoor patio furniture sales lot shall be removed and the premises cleared of all
debris and restored to pre-event conditions at the end of the sale on December 7,
2024.
5. The location of the sale is limited to The Pavillion at La Quinta parking lot adjacent to
the Sports Clips Haircuts located at 46650 Adams Street, per the attached site plan.
Traffic aisles shall not be blocked.
6. Adequate and legal pedestrian access shall be maintained around merchandise or
displays placed on a sidewalk or walkway.
7. Adequate vehicle access shall be maintained around merchandise, displays or
temporary structures placed in parking areas. Roadways, parking areas, and
pedestrian traffic aisles outside the proposed area shall be always maintained
accessible.
8. The facility shall not engage in the sale of any merchandise not directly associated
with outdoor patio furniture.
9. Per information on file, tents or food are not proposed and are not approved as part
of this permit.
10. All electrical wirings must comply with the California Electrical Code as well as Building
and Safety Requirements. No zip cords will be allowed. All extension cords must be
connected to a circuit protected outlet. Use of generators shall comply with the
California Fire Code and Building Code.
11. Signs shall be restricted to one (1) banner sign per street frontage, each sign not
exceeding thirty-two square feet. Maximum one (1) temporary portable sign on or off-
site on private property, not to exceed fifty-five (55) square feet. Banners may be
placed on the temporary fence or adjacent within the parking area, but not on Highway
111. Other signs and advertising devices such as pennants, flags, A-frame signs, are
prohibited.
Adherence to these conditions, as outlined, will ensure that adverse impacts to surrounding
properties and businesses will be minimized. The City may elect to add conditions to this
application to mitigate any problems that arise not previously addressed herein.

The plan for the above referenced application was reviewed and approved by the Riverside County Fire
Department with the following conditions.
1. Fire lanes and fire hydrants shall be maintained accessible and unobstructed.
2. A separate permit from the Office of the Fire Marshal is required before erecting any tent or canopy
greater than 400 square feet.
All questions regarding the meaning of these conditions should be referred to the Office of the Fire Marshal
