I've added a few others on this email thread. Yes - I can get a revised traffic plan to you as needed. However, perhaps I can explain a bit clearer about the camera car rig, etc. and we can go from there. **** See attached photos. 1 - Photo one - Even though this is taken on the dunes. It depicts the camera car in one lane & picture vehicle in another. 2 - Second photo shows the rig. 3 - Production needs both lanes and for safety ITC seems best case scenario. 4 - Also ITC does not impede traffic flow by utilizing a complete lock up [in the event vehicles need to get thru]. 5 - ITC is historically 5/8 - 10 minutes at officers' discretion. 6 - Production will have a safety meeting ahead of filming the scene. 7 - Production knows if officers say an emergency vehicle needs to come thru, production will safely move to one side and let the emergency vehicle pass and not continue filming activity until the lead officers say it is clear. 8 - All officers will be on walkie talkies with the first assistant director who `orchestrates' the scene and safety aspects. Regarding rding both Ave 54 & PGA Blvd: 1 - The roads will not be locked up at the same time. Only when in use. 2 - Production asked for the window of 7AM-11AM however will most likely be wrapped prior to 11AM. Regarding rding CHP / PD note on traffic plan. 1 - The lower left corner of the traffic plan `legend' indicates CHP or PD whichever will be utilized however I can get that changed if you like. Regarding rding PGA Blvd. 1 - Could you please send to me contacts for this private road. 2 - I will keep you posted on permission. If production does not receive permission that road will be dropped from the scene. Regarding multiple CMS signs. 1 - If City requires more signage we can absolutely do that. REF: 1 - Camera car company: www.camcar.com 2 - Traffic control company: www.pacifictc.com As a 25 + year veteran Location Manager I have worked with both these companies extensively in the industry. They are bone fide. www.imdb.com `Linda Kai' Lastly - does this answer your questions? I believe ITC is the most controllable / safest, scenario however will make changes as City deems fit. Look forward to a reply either way. Linda Kai - Gorman Permit Coordinator Inland Empire Film Services, Inc. You may email me the revised plan when it's ready for resubmittal and I will route it for review. I appreciate your help, and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thank you! Scenario 1— Ave 54 is closed in both directions from Jefferson to Madison for the entire period lam to 11am This would normally entail a plan showing where the Road closed signs and barricades would be placed ( WB just w/o Madison and EB just e/o Jefferson) — along with the positioning of the sheriff vehicles with its lights flashing The reference to CHIP should be LQ Sheriff and we need to coordinate with them to be present on our streets, not CHIP There would typically also be at least 3 CMS signs indicating: Ave 54 Use Av 52 CLOSED F to 1/9 7-11am Madison These would be WB 54 e/o Madison, NB Madison s/o 54, and SB Jefferson s/o 52 at minimum asap. The arrow would point the correct direction Scenario 2 — Ave 54 closed in just one direction at a time, or just closed for short periods and intermittent traffic will be allowed to go when Sheriff says so, holding traffic like a flagman would if street was under construction . Same comments as above — but CMS signs would convey that expect delays . There would typically also be at least 3 CMS signs indicating: Ave 54 EXPECT Use Av 52 CLOSED LONG F to . 1/9 7-11am DELAYS Madison ■ These would be WB 54 e/o Madison, NB Madison s/o 54, and SB Jefferson s/o 52 at minimum asap. The arrow would point the correct direction Scenario 3 — Ave 54 closed maybe 1st 2 hrs. and PGA West closed 2nd 2 hrs. — each being open while the other one is closed. . This allows some flexibility to get PGA residents in and out when 54 is closed and get south La Quinta residents in and out when just PGA West is closed • Minimizes the re-routing of traffic somewhat during that time — but CMS signs would need to change to be current with the adjustments when closed and when open. PGA West is a private road, and we have no jurisdiction here — this will need to be coordinated with PGA directly how they want to sign and station Sheriff accordingly to advise their residents which way to go to avoid closure, when, route they want traffic to use in and out of Madison, etc. Respectfully, <1mage003.png> Jack Lima I Assistant Planner City of La Quinta 78495 Calle Tampico I La Quinta, CA 92253 760.777.7195 www.laquintaca.gov www.playinlaquinta.com From: Linda Kai -Gorman <Iinda(@iefilmbermits.com> Sent: Friday, January 3, 2025 1:48 PM To: Lisa Chastain <Ichastain(@Iaquintaca.gov>; Jack Lima <ilima(@Iaquintaca.gov> Subject: BMW Film Permit Packet. Jack - Marcie was kind enough to reach out to me a few days ago. I believe right around the time period we spoke. I am still trying to input this permit into the system.
